Yes, when I turned 50, my wife (no pics) threw me a ‘weird beer’ party, where everyone brought different types of beer. She also obtained a lot of photos of me from my family in my younger years and had those hanging up. We bought a bunch of votive candle holders so people could sample all the different beer before they grabbed what they wanted. It was a blast and I and friends still talk about it 8 years later.

I did this year. But it was a birthday week celebration of 5 LSU baseball games with 4 of my sons and best friend. Great week.

A 50 year old birthday party would be a record for the longest party ever.

I attended one for a good friend. It was a surprise party and boy was he surprised.

His wife set him up and made him believe it was for another friend. She had him plan it and get all the drinks and food.

He was blown away when he discovered it was his and he had been conned.

Actually me and three of my closest friends all turned 50 this year (except me I won’t until Jan). We just met up in Bay St. Louis for the Florida game weekend from Thursday - Sunday. Rented a house close to the marina. Had a golf cart to get around to the bars and restaurants. That old town area is pretty cool with the strip of bars and restaurants on the water. Watched the Alabama vs Tennessee and LSU vs FLA games at sports book. Nice little weekend for a few married 50 year olds.

Bash would be a strong word for mine. Especially compared to a buddy who turns 50 in May.

His wife is flying some Euro band in for a private concert as part of the festivities.
