A 3 liter of Big Red cream soda and Jack's Rock'n Roll cookies was a staple at my grandparents house growing up in the 80s and early 90s.

They had them. Sometimes a 2L just wasn’t enough and 4L was too much.

That was when they were trying to trick us into using the gay metric system. Sone reason it stuck on soft drinks.

3 ltrs were good, but my go to when terrorizing the city on my bike was a Longneck Mountain Dew from one of those coolers they used to have ice in that would sit at the front of the store.

Then you’d really find joy if you could get them to sell you skoal bandits “for your dad”.

The more interesting soda size shift was how 20oz bottles were gradually replaced by half liter bottles. It’s rare to see 20oz bottles now. It seems like they’re still common at sports events and that’s about it.

Did soda used to come in 16 ozs and have a styrofoam label?

If I remember right, the ones with styrofoam labels were 10 oz.

I questioned myself until a pic was posted. I was sure I remembered them.

I seem to recall as a kid - mid 90s - my mom used to go to Fred's on Sundays and come back with the Faygo three liter drinks and Golden Flake chips.

She came home with a lot more than that.

Having worked for Coke Consolidated for 25 years, I can verify they existed. I delivered enough of them.

Did you work with Bubba?

Did you drop cases of Surge off at my house in 1996?
