There’s one that I eat at in Miami. I’ve eaten there 4 or 5 times and the place is dead every time I’ve gone. Can’t believe it’s still open.

The best BBQ usually comes from places that you feel the need to be carrying while going there or it looks like the nastiest place on earth. Those typically have the best BBQ I have ever eaten

I think there is a place for chains to an extent. I used to love going to Sonny's and getting a big deal combo. Isn't moes original in New Orleans originally out of alabama. There are a handful in Florida called 4 Rivers and they're awesome.

Yes a big black dude named Tiny cooking in a shack creates better que, I even like the guys in beater 92 z71 pick ups selling ribs out the smoker trailer, but if I am taking my wife and rug rats the chain will do.

Yeah and every random house in Louisiana you eat at is filled with master chef winners.

Dickies blows, but if you can’t see the convenience factor of a chain that is open every day, I can’t help you.

You are such a cvnt. Macdonalds is convenient but the food is shite.

If food isnt about quality to you then maybe you should try a slop trough. very convenient.

You know I honestly didn’t mind ducky’s when we got it for track events (whether on the road or on campus) at ULM as far as taste goes. But whoever said it made them feel like shite after was right. I always felt bad for like a solid day after eating there.

I remember one time I ate there the night before running a 3k indoor and ended up blowing up and running a solid :30 - :45 seconds slower than I should have because my stomach was in knots the whole race.

You mean Fazolis breadsticks are the GOAT. There is a fazolis about a mile from my house.

Also, Dickey’s was trash anyway, Rudy’s is far superior.

Their food isn't bad, in my opinion, but they are way overpriced for what you get

Yeah, there is definitely better BBQ out there. But we have one relatively close to the house that we'll hit up every once in a while because it's convenient and different than fast food. Then I see the bill and realize it's not worth it. For a quick smoked turkey sandwich and waffle fries, it fill the void. But when it costs a family of three $30, that's when you question how it's still open.

On the way out though I get free soft serve and I forget about all my complaints. It's a vicious cycle.

For the record, I don't think any of the other chains around us are all that great either (Rudy's, Pappa's, etc). None are bad, but none want to make me drive further than Dickies which is 5 minutes away.

How ever many stores there are, they should close that many. Place sucks.

I’d prefer a McRibb over anything Dickys.

I have waitred it a few times and it was decent. Usually after a Sunday funday when there's no other BBQ places available. Always expensive for what you got but that seems to be the norm with BBQ places.

One just closed by work here in Louisville. Place was a ghost town every day. There was a food truck doing tons of business in the lot next to them. Hell, even the Skyline Chili place was packed.

"Honkey-Day" (yes-really) is the last Wednesday of the month, from 11 to 2, at KOC Hall in Africa-Town, AL. On this day, white people can go there and eat the best ribs they've ever had. If you show up at the 2:01 or if the ribs are gone, don't ask, just drive away.

And yes - Dickey's is dog food.

Dickeys was great for sides. Having a quick get together? They sell a big pan of their sides for $32. Used that a few times to avoid cooking/cleaning or when going to a friends for a get together.

So the sky is not falling on this fine fast food bbq eatery, which is the standard it should be judged by, fast food. It’s no Letha’s or Smoke (Covington).

I talked to the owner of the LC location about a year and a half ago. He told me he was going to open up his 2nd location in Pearland, TX. I kind of laughed and asked if he had Killen's BBQ. He hadn't heard of it.

I wish Rudy's would open in LC. Hands down the best chain BBQ I've had by far and way better than any BBQ currently in LC/
