I did overnight last Monday night. It was out for 30+ hours. I was gone this past weekend so I didn't see the storms.

I'm in Allen, all I need to know is do I need to move my car to a parking garage?

I don't have covered parking at work, and I never know when I do or don't need to plan for this shite.

If you work at night then yeah I would. It isn’t supposed to hit until later this evening.

So what does that mileage have to do with it?

Looks like DFW’s chances are going down. I approve of that.

The Hill Country is basically a completely different place in regards to weather than North Texas is.

4 months of ice storms

DFW hasn't seen measurable snow or ice event in over 4 years (an ongoing record lapse). Even so, ice and snow is pretty rare.

The weather in Texas is increasingly tropical. Summers aren't as miserably hot and dry, winters not nearly as cold. They've even shifted the planting zones as things have gotten warmer and wetter overall.

No, will be leaving around 5p...could leave for the day as early as probably 3p if needed.

Sounds like I'm in the clear though.

Little cell north of Denton shows a pretty strong updraft, looking at the highest tilt on the diff reflectivity.

Later in the afternoon the storms should blow up quickly.

SPC thought about upping it to a moderate with the hail and wind potential. They're looking at an area around and south of the Red River to see them start popping off and moving toward the metroplex and points E. Individual cells should eventually cluster up into a line as the evening progresses.

Might need to earlier, I wouldn't bank on the app to get the timing right.

DFW NWS sent up a balloon at 2 pm and it shows some huge hail potential. Exceptional instability present (7000+ MUCAPE), good deep shear. Wouldn't be surprised to see 4" hail somewhere.

Based on the last few years, Collin County will get it. It has been plagued with monster hailers here lately.

I'm in Southwest Fort Worth off 20 close to Benbrooke. So far all the bad storms have been north and south of my area. Been very lucky. Probably just jinxed myself with this post.
