Exactly what my Vacmaster vacuum did. Turned it off and five minutes later, nothing. Brushes not available so they sent me a brand new one.

Once the brush looses contact, it is dead. It is typically a 2 minute job to check.

Walk into a production shop and you will see stuff like Jet, Delta, Festool, etc

Dewalt does not make production type tools like Jet and Delta. Vice versa, Jet and Delta do not make small electrical tools like palm sanders, jigsaws and drills.

You typically will not see Delta, Festool or Jet on construction sites either.

Festool just has this weird following.

Delta absolutely does make job site tools. They even make the same Miter saw stand and job site table saw as Dewalt just rebranded for Delta.

I agree. Some of it is pricey for what it is. Their routers are way overpriced.

What kind of Mickey Mouse production shop has Jet and modern Delta Chinese junk machines in it. Even during their heyday, they made mid-grade machines like Powermatic did and paled in comparison to Northfield, Oliver, etc.

A serious production factory will be using CNC today and a custom production shop will have Martin, SCM, Altendorf, Felder, and the like. A smaller shop with less capital will be using old iron like Wadkin, The Porter, Oliver, Crescent, L. Power, Festo and similar.

Modern Delta is a joke compared to its past and Jet never had an illustrious past. You are better off buying Grizzly as much as it pains to say it.

You won't find much if any Festool in a production shop either, it is more geared to site work though it is fantastic in a home shop. Their best tools for a production shop are their sanders but Surfprep and Mirka make better electric sanders (some shops are moving to electric) and Dynabrade is still the best air sanders for woodwork.

ETA if you see a miter or cutoff saw in a production shop it will likely be an OMGA but more likely you will see a computerized cutoff or upcut saw like one using a Tigerstop or a Whirlwind or Razorgage.

Just as you said many smaller production shops have Jet and Delta though it is the older stuff they have bought and refurbished. A lot of smaller trim and cabinet guys are running that stuff because they can't afford a $40K+ CNC.

I think not getting a CNC is sort of a catch-22, though. Many smaller guys can't afford one but IMO you can't afford not to have one in today's world if you want to grow a business.

Is there any subject you don't google then come here to pretend to be an expert on?

Mitre saw stopped

Learn how to fix it yourself, it really isn't that tough. I've repaired and rebuilt several Dewalt miter saws, including one that did exactly what yours did. Just a spade connector that came off the switch, cost zero dollars and 15 minutes to fix.

No, you aren't. Watches, law, car restoration, home repair, mountaineering, cycling, served in the military and now production shop work... What have I missed?

I’ve had to change the brushes on my Dwalt 18v drill twice. The parts cost $8 from some place near Seigan and I-10. I almost here the thing away until I saw how easy it was on YouTube. That thing is 12+ years old and been through a flood.

If you replace it I have the Bosch with that quirky slide knuckle thing you will have to buy the damn stand that rolls around if you want to move it it’s a bitch to move without it.
