Too close to NBR. Nope, I’m not going there to watch Bag O Donuts when I could wait a few months and see them safely at The Varsity.
Well shite, that’s kinda close to The Bottoms (I think that’s what they call that area.)
Well, I guess I’m not going to see Bag O Donuts after all.

Anything north of Florida Blvd. is considered downrange.

If you spooge trees, you have been fricking Poison Ivy and need to get a shot for that.

It should definitely be industrial. No one wants to go north of the capital to hear a concert outside. Plus, it literally stinks up there from the exxon fumes. Any entertainment district ideas would go belly up. Industrial at least offers some real jobs with staying power. I understand that you have the casino right there, but it is too far from the footprint of the downtown bars to be a draw commensurate with them. If there's anywhere downtown that could support an outdoor ampitheater (there isn't), it'd be that empty lot across from the IBM building where the old Advocate building used to be.

Shreveport had one, it got trashed. Same thing would happen there.

Great place for the homeless to hang out
Especially the ones that have to leave the shelters during the day

The amphitheater will go in St George

I must say "The St. George Center for the Outdoor Arts." has a much better ring to it than the North BR Cultural Center for the Arts."

NBR is a culture center.

This is true, but since we can't even have 4th of July events for fireworks a few blocks down for the proposed site in the OP, without the occasional need to duck for stray bullets, maybe an amphitheater is not the answer.

Somehow I don’t think Shakespeare In The Park would work around thr block in the capitol park either.
It wouldn’t be Frank Drebin killing five actors this time.

Is Pete Clements going to return to prison?

The Bottom is Old South Baton Rouge from the North gate of campus to downtown. The interstate cuts right through the middle of it. Most here would call it McKinley.
And you haven’t lived until you’ve thrown dice on the side of Johnny’s Liquor Store on a Friday night-something I first did as a 12 year old white kid.

What a stupid idea. It’d be one thing If they wanted to put one right next to of bars or some kind of entertainment district, but no. They want to put an amphitheater right on the edge of Exxon. Maybe people can catch a show then have drinks in the TNT welding supply parking lot afterwards.

Yeh Carolina st. to the levee. The Top/Uptown is on the other side of the interstate more towards government, the norther part of East Blvd and around Myrtle. there are parts in the bottom that are realtively safe, but there is very little area in the top that I would venture off into.
