I’m sure there is very little love lost between JBE and Destroya.

So Region 1 numbers have actually performed the best out of the entire state since this whole shitshow started? That’s kind of been clear for the past few weeks.

no, not at all. They just did so much worse than everyone else, they were able to lower their curve more

This shows the daily increase as a ratio of the population in the region so they are all scaled the same.

That’s what I mean. They outperformed everyone else.

Let’s just say region 1 wasn’t the reason JBE extended the SAH like everyone was claiming.

If you do worse in the beginning, you have more room to improve.

Look at region 4...that's one of the reasons JBE used to extend the order

no but their curve spiked so highly they may be the best off in the long run b/c their community spread is likely super high

Because of testing. Lots of regions just didn’t test and had people walking around with the virus spreading it around and didn’t have any clue.

Imagine if every small parish tested like St John Parish did.

You really think that other parishes had the same rate of infection as New Orleans did?

It's pretty obvious this spread during Mardi Gras, which is why New Orleans was hit so hard.

I guess we'll never know

New Orleans was hit so hard because of the demographics the virus affected the worse

So what is it? It is a higher number of cases due to increased testing, or due to demographics?

Higher number of cases due to testing.

Higher number of deaths due to demographics.

Disagree

Compare New Orleans to Lafayette.

Orleans Parish has 3 times the number of tests of Lafayette Parish.

Orleans Parish has 13 times the number of cases of Lafayette Parish.

Your infection rate was the highest in the state because of the population density, which was exaggerated by Mardi Gras.

I agree MG was def a factor....however, my initial comment was about Region 1 as a whole..not just Orleans. You're the one that singled out Orleans Parish

I used St John Parish bc they were a headline as being a small parish with a high infection rate bc they tested like crazy...some of the smaller parishes just didnt test
