i was at LSU from 2000-2003. I was nervous as a male from all the females being so scared, i was afraid i was going to get shot just walking behind some girl. it was chaos. I pretty much figured out half my professors HAD to be the serial killer.
I hung out in Pam Kinnamore's neighborhood (Briar Place/Wood?) everyday during that period. Had several friends that lived there. As a 17 year old kid, it was freaky, surreal, etc...

I wasn't in LA when all this was going on. What was the overall feeling around the BR area. Was there a panic (especially among the female population)?
Obviously everyone is going to have heightened awareness when there is a maniac going around brutally murdering people. The cops said he drove a white truck, so people looked at every white truck askance. I remember jogging through my neighborhood with a friend at the time in Kenilworth. As we neared the neighborhood pool, we saw a lone white truck parked in the parking lot. We turned around immediately and went back home.
I had a good friend that fit the description of his victims, so we were all concerned for her safety, constantly checking on her.
The day he was caught was an awesome day. He got off way too easy. He needed to rot in jail for another 50 years. I hope he died very painfully and alone.

I wonder how hard the doctors tried to save him?
I'd assume they did everything they could given they took the Hippocratic Oath.

Interesting. I don't think I heard anything about it until well after he had been caught.
BRPD had butchered that investigation the entire time. I think they released sketch of white males, nobody had any clue who this guy was or could have been. my buddies gf never wanted to go anywheres on campus without someone, she had a night class that she was ALWAYS escorted to and from etc. It got pretty intense for a while especially right after the Pace murder, shite got really real then.

There was a white Chevy truck in town that matched the discription of DTL's truck. The guy had a huge sticker on his back window that said "NOT THE SERIAL KILLER."

Vaguely remember when he was caught (I was in middle school) . Didn't one of the break ins/murders happen on Stanford Ave?

So much white guilt, even then, before it was the in thing.

Hell man, it got to a point where guys didnt want to go anywhere alone for the sake of constantly having an alibi.

People should never forget how badly the cops fricked up the investigation.

Do you think they had Do Not Resuscitate instructions for him? Given he was a ward of the state, did the state have the right to issue such instructions for Lee? If so, then it would be awfully difficult for his family to make any sort of wrongful death claim.

I truly hope hell is a real place just because of people like him

I remember hearing some serial killer "expert" on TV saying that there have never been black serial killers or something like that, so they rulled out a lot of black suspects.

So many great Christians in here
Being a Christian means that sometimes you'll fall short.
This is going to have to be one of those times for me. That animal never once repented (or even acknowledged) what he had done. There are families out there that pretty much know he killed one of their loved ones, yet, even knowing he was condemned, he never said one word to give any of them any closure.
frick him and everybody that looks like him.

During the DC sniper I remember being paranoid because there were rumors that they were traveling down the east coast and possibly through Alabama. The fact that there was a known killer in BR with no real prospects of him stopping would be incredibly nerve wracking
The fricked up part about that is we had 3 seriel killers connected to the BR area around the same time with the DC sniper, DTL, and Sean Gillis. Everyone in this area was paranoid.
