what are your thoughts on chauvin being proven guilty of murder beyond reasonable doubt?

As I reflect on the verdict, I have to ask myself, "was I being objective with all the evidence?

I think I was but I didn't allow myself to listen to witnesses crying and taking blame for Floyd's death.

I can understand people were disturbed seeing a man in the street pinned down, saying he can't breathe and die before them and the cop seemingly not really caring. In these cases...

I always, always go to "how did Floyd end up the street?"

and it's all on Floyd...all of it

I originally thought Chauvin killed him with the knee

but when the police videos came out.. I was done trying to find a conviction on the police...fair or not, that where my mind went

Perhaps I am scorned watching this country hating on police while many inner city black citizens continue to make self destructive decisions and blame others for the misery which follows the path.

Blacks are scorned with their experience in America, specifically how they feel treated by police, but I don't understand it and never will.

I see police being called out to situations because some knucklehead did something against the law.

The year and after year rap sheet on Floyd is pretty damning...

Many blacks seem to give that a pass and are spiking the football tonight

what a mess.

No progress has been made... may God continue to refine us into a better people.

Interesting theory. I guess I’ll write them to remove the cpr section on performing on someone when they’ve stopped breathing.

lol dude its for pulseless folks. you dont do CPR on someone choking or a copd/asthma exacerbation if they have a pulse.

Its primarily for blood circulation, it just so happens that when you are pulseless you are not breathing and mouth-to-mouth is not even taught to general public for CPR anymore.

Crime is going to soar. Cops will look the other way for fear of ending up like Chauvin while the black community has been empowered and now thinks they are untouchable.

If I was a cop I would just sit in my car, eat donuts and collect a check.

there is timestamped footage of his partners asking DC to to de-escalate his restraint at least twice I believe.

One suggested Chauvin put Floyd on his side, but this would've ultimately ended in the same result since Floyd wasn't dying of choking on his own vomit and saliva.

I don't know about MN police, but we're trained to go side restraint/fetal position if the perp is in danger of choking from vomit, etc. We're not specifically told NOT to flip them on their sides, but it's drilled into our heads to do it if they're in danger of vomiting.

I'm pretty confident that Chauvin had no reason to believe that it would be any better on his side, as Ex-DS (which the officers can be heard discussing) has shown to be calmed by exactly what Chauvin was going. That's literally part of what we're trained to deal with and combat ex-DS, kneeling on the back between the shoulder blades or small of the back with both knees.

Ex-DS is a deadly medical emergency and should be treated as such, and if there's anything Chauvin is guilty of is not taking it more seriously; and the optics would've been totally different if his knee were even 3 inches lower.

Chauvin is simply guilty of getting too caught up in the moment and the crowd surrounding the situation, and nothing else. Everything else he was trained to do and thought he was responding accordingly, he didn't set out to kill Floyd and had no idea the extent of artery blockage and drugs in his system that were in play.

Could he have been more careful to realize what was truly going on? Obviously yes. The ME themselves said his drug usage and artery blockage were conditions that contributed to his death, along with the stress of being subdued and restrained.

But do we want that to be the case from here on out? Do we want EVERY criminal that dies due to the stress of being arrested to become a martyr and officers convicted of murder? That's fricking crazy.

Cool. So let me know when you’ve caught up to the reason I made the comment, regarding someone proclaiming they can’t breathe.

Again, interesting theory. I’ll write the Red Cross and have them update to your standards. They are still listing the archaic steps. Thank goodness you are here to correct them.

I hope those Maxine Waters comments lead to an appeal. Not so much for Chauvin but just to piss her and the liberal media off.

Young felon cops in training might learn and not commit murder. Current cop felons put on notice. It's accountability season, sorry not sorry you cheer on murderers

I find it hilarious that you think cops are a priority problem in this country.

Just like the confederate statues you will come to realize they aren’t a solution to the underlying problem. By that time you will be on to blaming the next so called problem.

The irony is that your virtue signaling will lead to the death of many many more young black people. Crime will go up after the cops are “brought to justice”. How do you explain that?

a police with more accountability is better for a free society, sorry you enjoy boot taste. Guess you need big government to solve your problems.
