It wouldn't be unreasonable to say he was playing with his tongue and mouth while he was high out of his mind.
Hell, I do this all of the time and the only drug I've ever taken is alcohol and the occasional cigar.

This is a nice throwback to simpler times when the trial spent hours establishing the layout of Cup foods.

ETA: They found pills in the back seat of the squad car with floyds saliva on them. The prosecution is trying to argue maybe he also had gum?
He absolutely had a pack of airhead gum in the car. That's beyond doubt.

so floyd fell asleep with the gum in his mouth, 30 minutes later he still had it in his mouth...however, they found the pills in his car, in the police car, and in his system

The prosecutor is argumentative instead of the witness.

If I was on the jury I would be getting pissed that the prosecution is cutting the witness off from explaining his reasoning.

It doesn’t mean he isn’t going about it in a dickish way.
Nelson never berated witnesses.

I don't disagree. He's also currently testifying instead of the witness testifying.

He's learning on the job. He's never tried a case.

This is turning into jeopardy.

Yeah, the jury has to start wondering why is the prosecution being so hostile

Agreed, he absolutely is. It’s still an expert witness. If prosecutor doesn’t like how he is answering, claim he is a hostile witness, but still be professional and treat the witness with respect. He is very unlikeable.

Nelson should just be like..."Dr, is there anything you would like to add to the your answers in which the DA didn't like where you were going so he cut your answers off?"

The State did that with Dr. Toobin.

It is an interesting exchange. I don't think he is hurting their position, as much is he is making them look like they are stretching their arguments and picking and choosing points they like
