if you indeed could see pills I doubt nelson wouldve shown the pic/clip and allowed the prosecution to hit on it during cross

Hope tomorrow so closing arguments can be made on Friday
Judge already said closing arguments will not be until Monday since jury will be sequestered one they hear closing arguments.
He wants to make sure they get a full weekend of the biased media claiming what a slam dunk case the state presented.

I don't know why any white male in the country would want to be a cop right now, it's a no win
The two I worked for valued the product they put on the street, and it showed. Pay was higher for those with degrees, they pushed tuition reimbursement, promotions were capped for those without degrees, tons of IST, great bennies, you name it.
But that drove demand very high, so we tended to attract a better average candidate than most PDs and then we only hired from the top of those applicants.
I get your overall point, but there are a lot of departments out there who stand behind their men and women because they value the investment that they have in them.

I know you probably say this facetiously but it's pretty damn true...

This defense witness been devastating so far. It was boring at times but his presentation of actual scientific studies showing prone position WITH weights on top of the individual up to 225 lbs were safe. As well as the study showing that someone applying their knees to someone ont he ground doesn’t transmit 100% of their weight, it’s more like 30%.
He didn’t just have an opinion. He brought scientific facts.

What are the cliffs here? Is Derek Chauvin going to burn or is Minneapolis going to burn again?

ironically, I'll bet the crime rate went up because of the higher quality of hire?

meant no offense, that's why I threw in "in general"

Court TV is raking the State through the coals right now on their attempt to impeach the forensic pathologist. Something about them having 50,000 pages of documents to attempt to impeach his testimony with and the analysts are calling that absurd.
They are also saying how good this guy has been for the defense and have not only shown reasonable doubt but that it actually was something else that killed Floyd.

We will see what prosecution does with this expert. Obviously he didn't go much into knee at all other than to say Floyd was fully responsive.
Prosecution will have to at least get him to say that restricting air flow would also be a contributing factor..would be my guess and that the prolonged use of that position and knee to the wherever area contributed.
Not sure how they can overcome him saying a cardiac event happened.

Their own expert said restriction would have to occur on both sides of the neck

Funny. The HLN panel is saying the opposite. They are still twisting themselves in knots saying things like the “jury wasn’t paying attention”. and all kinds of other crazy things.

When are they going to hammer away at the numerous times Mr. Floyd said he could not breathe in the back seat when no one was touching him?
1. Heart disease?
2. Artery blockage?
3. Drug use?
4. Anxiety?
5. Panic attack?
6. Lied to get out of car to lie down in street?
If I'm the defense, I make the case...he was dying before the knee.
Its all on tape

He said he didn't want to ruin their weekend plans. That is almost unbelievable. Their plans?? Wouldn't it be better to be sequestered over the weekend so they can be back to their normal lives ASAP?

And this witness today just said that the compression of the hypopharynx hypothesis is a joke, and that a search of medical literature didn’t show any evidence to support it.
You know he was on to something because the prosecution started freaking out and objecting, but the judge didn’t even let them do a sidebar

I think if you had a strong opinion one way or the other you still have that option.
If you are somehow objective, I think the state did a really poor job of proving their case.

But our physician consult here said the hypopharynx was the smoking gun

Anyone claiming the hypopharynx compression hypothesis doesn’t understand basic anatomy

AMS went on for a hundred pages with that crushed hyperpharynx bull shite.
