Was reading an article the other day with the defense attorney's talking about the body cams. There will be a lot of mad individuals when the trial happens. They will all walk.

Honestly as a doc I would be afraid to deal with excited delirium patients in any instance other than one in which I had multiple people holding them down and drugs at the ready.

Please explain how and why it happens.. would love to know more

If Chauvin walks, get ready for riots that would make a mosh pit at a Slayer concert look like a Norah Jones show.

The amount of people replying that the cop was right but still should be convicted is appalling. Laws rule this country, not the mob. People need to grow a pair and stand by their convictions.

Or as bad as the Emmit Till trial.

This was a great article, but most here aren’t going to bother reading it.

I encourage everyone to read it. It has very important information in it from a perspective you probably haven’t considered.

I find some of their physics interesting, especially the assumption all of weight was evenly distributed between two knees, and their ignoring the weight of gear on him, and how they figured out the physical force in lbs threshold for asphyxiation. Looking at the photos I have a hard time believing the forces on the knees are equal.

I could easily see that force being much higher than 45 pounds.

If he's cleared it's because Keith Ellison (Attorney General) deliberately charged him with something he couldn't convict him of in order to claim, "see, the system is racist!"

Put the author's words in quote. It's slightly confusing reading your OP if not.

The officers were recorded on their body cams assessing George Floyd as suffering from “excited delirium syndrome” (ExDS), a condition which the MPD considers an extreme threat to both the officers and the suspect. A white paper used by the MPD acknowledges that ExDS suspects may die irrespective of force involved. The officers’ response to this situation was in line with MPD guidelines for ExDS.

Not exactly. One officer asked if they should turn Floyd on his side because he said he was "worried about excited delerium of whatever" and Chauvin just said that's why they had him on his stomach and blew him off. The problem is that Chauvin never once let up, never spoke to Floyd to check on him and never tried CPR after the other officer took Floyd's pulse and said he didn't have one(and he clearly had lost consciousness for some time).

If a police officer can kneel on someone's neck for 8 minutes and kill him with no repercussions, black or not, we have some fricked up tactics and policies.

There's just no way he gets off without at least a manslaughter charge.

Does anybody have an idea as to when the trial may start?

Just an estimation?

This is going to surpass OJ level interest. I am really looking forward to it.

You may be correct, but I heard early on the reason they took him out of car was for ExDs..he was trying to hurt himself in vehicle and they called ambulance

You mean to tell me we shouldn’t rush to judgment like Trayvon, Michael Brown, Alton Sterling????

We know that to be objectively true in the instance of the Minneapolis Police Department's handbook, which supposedly recommends this practice for subduing people. This is not standard procedure across police departments across America, however. I think the orthodoxy is knee into shoulder blades.

I can believe that. He was trying not to go to jail. In one clip that seemed to disappear, I saw him seemingly fall to the ground on purpose and that was probably right before they were going to put him in the back seat.

The whole setup was pathetic though. They got him out of the vehicle he was in, then they brought him on the sidewalk handcuffed and sat him down, then they pass up the police vehicle right in front of him and decided to walk him way across the street to the other vehicle which wasn't close to where they originally were and then all the bad stuff happened. It was so drawn out and unorganized that they were asking for something to go wrong.
