I graduated LSU in 2009 and that entire campus has been transformed with dozens of buildings on campus and several large condos off campus. shite the student union was basically worthless while I was there.

Money ain’t the problem

I hope members of judicial and law enforcement staff know to NOT post on social media. There was a certain Judge involved in Louisiana in an adoption by a high profile actress who posted on TD...
Louisiana =/= Arkansas

GeauxJudge’s daughter did play golf for LSU….

Didn’t some Eastern District prosecutors get in hot water for posting on social media during a trial? This was like 15 years ago.

Deputies arrest 4 in LSU student Madison Brooks case by tigerskin

Once again, I'm viewing this through the lens of my own kid who is loving, sweet, but not always a bastion of truth.

I am not sure what you mean as it has nothing to do with a kid speaking truth or not..

It is what Reggie’s claims the video shows

I am saying that I equate what happened to her as something that could easily happen to my kid. Furthermore, as much as a love her, she can and does lie to me with a poker face because she's a college kid. Fortunately I'm an old fart that loves derails so I pick the bullshite apart and punish her accordingly. Unfortunately Madison wasn't afforded the possibility of being able to make any comments while in a normal mindset. Her parents have no way of separating truth from bullshite like I find myself doing weekly with my tiger.

We don’t know where she was dropped off or why.

How do we know she wasn’t “pushed out” vs being “dropped off”? They anally abused her which was probably more an act of violence against her than anything remotely sexual. Once they were done abusing they simply could have discarded her.

Okay, I just read about it in the press and it was years ago. Thank you for informing me.

I wonder if TD could set a fundraising goal for the foundation. Has this ever been done?

Sadly, despite going to LSU and seeing... 300 (?) football games in person over the decades I have advised young aspiring students not to go there.

My issues: large size, dangerous location, parking and traffic, coming from small school culture shock, crazy big freshman class size, inability to immediately participate in an activity, cost (for out of state).

They found better fits for their needs and lives.

Safety is a huge issue for parents. International headlines over now two female students being killed does tremendous damage to the reputation of the university and the town.

Putting aside the gory details, I drove by there. Observations:

1) there are only like three houses on the front of Pelican Lakes. The area is mostly under construction.

2). Burbank is very wide there with a large median (neutral ground for the NOLA folks).

3). The memorial is across from and north of Pelican Lakes.

4). There is a very wide, fully paved shoulder there.

Do we have any information at all where the accident occurred?

Do we think maybe they turned back toward campus, turned north, and then left her on the shoulder when she wanted to get out?

That’s a pretty barren place to leave her.

I hope the prosecutors take pictures of how it looks now. With all that construction, it’s going to look a whole lot less remote in a year.

Just keep it away from Lake Concordia. The Blue Hole needs to stay pure.

Wait. Wouldn’t that take like 40 years if you made every home game? How old are you?

A couple of days ago I went back and looked at that quote again because I was curious. Reggie’s says they didn’t serve her AND that she didn’t drink in last hour before leaving

The affidavit includes the following timeline:

1:00 AM - Brooks stumbles after standing up from a barstool and has to be helped back to her feet by 3 other people.

1:34 AM - Brooks seen sitting on a bench near entrance door where she stood up and fell, and has to be helped up by the 17 year old defendant.

1:49 AM - Brooks and the defendants are seen leaving the bar.

1:54 AM - They are seen getting into the vehicle.

1:59 AM - Vehicle is seen heading towards Nicholson.

2:50 AM - The crash occurs.

I bring this up for two reasons.

First, Reggie’s stated that she hadn’t had anything to drink the last hour she was there. How do they define “there,” though? Could that be taken to mean any point before the vehicle left the parking lot? I could see that statement meaning she didn’t have anything else to drink after she fell next to a barstool at 1:00. The affidavit certainly intends to illustrate that she was already very inebriated at that point.

(It’s also possible that the statement from Reggie’s is simply wrong.)

Second, the fact that the 17 year old defendant went over to help her back up after falling at 1:34 AM is surely a key piece of evidence that speaks to their knowledge of her intoxication.

I’m having a hard time believing it.

But help me with this. Aren’t there like four bars crowded in that small area? Could she have been at other bars in the last hour?

I’ve thought about that as well. Yeah, it’s possible. But the only bars on that side of the road are Reggie’s and Fred’s. Fred’s doesn’t have the same reputation for serving underage people as Reggie’s and surely there would be footage of her crossing the street if she went to one of the other bars.

Here is their direct quote FWIW

“Even though she entered the bar with false identification, she wasn’t served nor did she consume any drinks at least during the last hour she was at Reggie’s.

Reggie’s has voluntarily turned over all video surveillance footage to EBRSO and has fully cooperated with EBRSO investigators since they were first contacted and requested to assist on Sunday, January 15.”

Now that’s a puzzle. How can they be so sure?

I’ve never been to Reggie’s, but surely with a full crowd on a Saturday night you can’t see everything.

Ok. This is a little delicate, but I’ll ask.

Do we know where the incident occurred? It seems like I have read Jennifer Jean here.

But that street is full of houses. Hell, it was full of houses when I roamed LSU back with the dinosaurs.

Put bluntly, that’s an odd place to have sex in a car, consensual or otherwise.
