Not the judge but apparently Washington was hit with another rape charge in LP.

The thread also revisited the Uber driver's liability.

I don’t see the Trauma as a problem for prosecution with regards to BAC. Wouldn’t be spilling into the bloodstream where blood was being drawn from, busted stomach/ intestines would spill into peritoneal cavity

I appreciate your informative posts but if it’s causing you that much stress, it’s not worth it.

Strangely, this thread is helping me frame a conversation with my hellion tiger. At the same time, as much as I've tried to instill common sense in her, I could easily see her accepting a ride home from these shitheads. As far as I been able to ascertain, Madi just wanted a ride.

Is this the longest thread in TD history?

Seems like the (in)famous Q thread was in the thousands of pages....

Here's my grey area. Isn't ethanol able to jump membrane adsorption? It goes straight from stomach (even mouth mucosa) to blood. If your stomach is busted and you have spillage, wouldn't this increase the surface area (think every perineal capillary) for adsorption?

Welcome. And as mentioned earlier I appreciate the legal perspective you bring.

Hope you stick around.

There was a lawyer who posted as Wednesday. Thought she was an LSU alum and lived in BR. Would've thought she would comment on this case but haven't seen if she did.

Thank you again for your informative posts.

I am in a similar situation with daughters and could not read the affidavit fully and made some factual errors early on as a result. Take a break from the thread if needed.

The BAC will be questioned for any number of reasons and the defense believes they can rely on the video.

No public word on Washington's possible new (3rd rape) charges someone mentioned earlier in the day.

I hope members of judicial and law enforcement staff know to NOT post on social media. There was a certain Judge involved in Louisiana in an adoption by a high profile actress who posted on TD...

If the Livingston Parish trial (older case and less witnesses, complications) is tried first and Washginton convicted:

1. Would that be the basis of a change of venue?

DA wouldn't want to admit he can't find a BR jury. Defense may like to be here given the demographics. Can the Judge himself decide that absent a request?

2. You said (Judge Holden) that Washington's rape conviction wouldn't come up unless he took the stand to testify. Should he be testifying anyway?

3. Would Washington be more likely to 'cut a deal' with prosecution if he's already been convicted?

These are really for any legal eagles in the thread.

Thank you.

It definitely is something to talk about your to your kids. I remember back from my tigerland days there definitely were girls who would just hop in the car with any random person at closing time needing a ride home. Super sketchy to do but it happened all the time like it was nothing happened more than once to us some random person ended up in our car asking for a ride

Code of Criminal Procedure 622

A change of venue shall be granted when the applicant proves that by reason of prejudice existing in the public mind or because of undue influence, or that for any other reason, a fair and impartial trial cannot be obtained in the parish where the prosecution is pending.

In deciding whether to grant a change of venue the court shall consider whether the prejudice, the influence, or the other reasons are such that they will affect the answers of jurors on the voir dire examination or the testimony of witnesses at the trial.

Judgment call. Most criminals are not smart. Some are arrogant. All are trying to save their skin, and the jury knows it.

Lots of criminal defendant don’t testify.

Hmm. If he’s tried as an adult for raping a 12 year old, I think he’d get life. So there wouldn’t be much of a deal to give him.

I am unaware of any such judge or screen name, nor would I be disposed to discuss it if it in fact existed.

Nah. It wasn’t me. There was an Arkansas judge who posted here about handling Angelina Julie’s adoption. He also got caught up in some scandal that sent him to jail.

There are two LSU female students that created an app for free rideshares as a result.

Small intestine huge surface area and absorbs alcohol fast stomach absorbs it too. Wouldn’t be any faster if spilled into peritoneal cavity. Further, for this case unless the perps admit to giving her more alcohol( which would really sink them) she shouldn’t have had any alcohol left in her stomach after 2 hours no drinking .

Yes, I was addressing HodsonTiger who brought up the other judge. That unfortunate bit of indiscretion was several years ago and he just joined here this month...
