Hopefully the state will move this trial to a better parish.

I guess you could argue that she was still absorbing alcohol, and getting drunker, after the sex. In other words, she chugged a bottle and looked tipsy but was sober enough to give consent, then started to keel over as alcohol fully hit her.

She was falling over in the parking lot of Reggie’s before she ever got in the car with anybody

Not sure how else you can make that claim unless she is clearly not drinking on camera for the last hour.

I thought that too. The Reggie's statement was pretty absolute on it, though.

Nothing pathetic about that. You’re apparently just a woke pussy who is out of touch with reality. If you raise your children to read the room and know when and where it’s safe to get shite faced and where it’s not, then you wouldn’t have issues. Nothing wrong with getting drunk and having a good time. But Reggies? Come on. It might come off as elitist or whatever but any parent with their head in the right place knows to raise their children ESPECIALLY their daughter to know better and to keep their head on a swivel.

I’m woke? you are a naive moron who I hope doesn’t have kids. You can “raise your kids right” all you want but every parent knows that some very good kids can find themselves in a sketchy situation, and can make some poor decisions in college. What was this girls crime? Going to a well established college bar? I don’t blame her for not knowing a twice charged rapist was on the dance floor at a college bar. This a chronic problem that LSU has ignored.

Only an idiot would think that means it’s her fault or her parents fault when a SERIAL rapist has anal sex with them in the back of a car and dumps them in a parking lot with a BAC of .32

I've known people drive blackout drunk and make it home, not remembering with probably less than a .30.

At my peak drinking/partying phase of college I would have short black out episodes where I would remember partying and then step it up a notch to shots, black out and then come down and remember Waffle house or Dennys an hour later. And this would be over the span of just a few hours.
She could have been relatively coherent and walking leaving the bar, completely out of it for a while in the car and then gaining some of her senses leaving the car.

The accused may say she chugged a bottle in the car after the sex. Although if that were true, it seems like they would have said it by now.

That also wouldn't line up with their statements about how drunk she was

Yep, and not remember any of it.

"Coherent" is a little fuzzy here. You can be blackout drunk and still look relatively stable.

I said it earlier in the thread.

A 120lb female who consumes 6 beers and 3 shots over 3 hours will have a BAC of .32

I don’t give a shite what their lawyer says, I’ve seen college girls drink that much and still be able to walk and talk. They are completely shitfaced and incoherent but still functional. Now these girls were very seasoned drinkers, which I don’t doubt was the case here as she previously worked at the bar.

Reggie's is claiming she used a fake to get in

Have they said that publicly? Seems like it would be somewhat verifiable, if true, assuming there is an inventory of her possessions from the investigation.

Whether they should have known it was a fake is an entirely different topic. But if they claim she used a fake and no other ID was found in her possessions, that’s going to look pretty bad for the bar.

If she was at .319 at death, and she stopped drinking 1.5 hours earlier, she would have had to have done 8 or 9 shots at once to get to that level (assuming she was about 135 pounds).

I would think after an hour of no drinking her BAC would have dropped, so that means she was even more drunk when they picked her up originally?

quote:

but experts generally agree that it takes one hour to break down 0.015 of blood alcohol concentration, meaning that for every hour that you are not drinking, your BAC will go down by 0.015.

quick good search gave me this. guess it's not that big of a factor.

I think the State is going to need an expert or two. Those aren't cheap. Offhand, for a good tox person who can handle the integrity of the lab forensics, I'd say they are looking at 50-100k, minimum.

The defense attorneys said they will call experts as well. They are going to need some bank to make that happen as well.

Yep, idk why this is so difficult to grasp. I got kicked out of a strip club in key west years ago, didn’t really know where I was, and somehow made it back. The guys I was with came in and said I was eating everyone’s leftovers from earlier from the fridge. The last thing I really remembered was getting kicked out.

Isn’t the NAACP involved? In a totally non racial way of course

If I were defending, I would absolutely reach out to the NAACP and anybody else I could think of to help fund the case. That's just a smart move on the part of the defense.

Huh, that's an interesting take. Anyway, just to help you along with your superior intellect, LA has a disproportionate percentage of blacks who are unemployed and uneducated (no highschool degree) and that's who the defense will be targeting as jurors. In most cases these people believe that their failures are due to the "system" and won't convict one of their own.....being birds of the same feather.

If the blacks that you know contribute to the betterment of society then they are nothing like the blacks that the defense will be seeking as jurors.

Does the defense get to pick jurors with no challenges during the "Voir Dire" process? (rhetorical)

At 16 yo I had a similar experience at Ziggys Saloon that was on St. Claude ave. back in da day. 25 ct Takillya shots and David Allen Coe was playin live "You Never Even Call Me By My Name", found out really young it`s not always ok to dance with other peoples wives even if they like it. It took 2 weeks for that hickey on my head to go down from that beer bottle. Good thing my brother was there to help me, he was 14 yo and kinda big for his age. Ahhhhhh the good ole days LOL
