My best friends wife posts pictures of her son that committed suicide on Facebook almost daily saying I miss you so much landon (his name). Most of the pics are baby pics and them doing family activities. I don't say anything in response I am just so sad for them.

Has depression been so prevalent in history as it seems to have been within the last 10-15 years. Same thing with gluten and peanut allergies.

When did all this shite begin?

Epidemic is right, I have a friend that gets calls for crime scene and accident clean ups. He has gotten multiple calls a month and sometimes multiple a week lately for suicide cases. Insane the number out in the sticks where meth and other drugs are prevalent

not really sure there are more suicides now

just more talked about

remember a Catholic that killed themselves wouldn't be buried in sacred ground so many families had a reason to lie
now we share to "help others"

Do you really think its social media's fault or just throwing this out there?

It is time we all start taking mental illness more serious in this country though.

I certainly think some younger people don't think it through and are influenced by the attention others get on social media.

I have had two friends who's kids killed themselves. Both dragged drama out on social media for a bit before going through with it. Both were over the breakup with a girl.

Never understood why someone would want to troll or be a dick in one of these threads. What does that say about your life if you love getting a rise out of people so much that you'll frick with someone clearly dealing with real shite? Just pathetic

Not all of those with depression want to burden others with their issues. So they see suicide as the only way

So I guess the terrorists that blow themselves up and kill innocent people can be classified in this mental ill group also I mean it is suicide after all. Yep we got a mental illness crisis now.

has a big part in it imo, some that are on there seek validation by getting a thumbs up from a friend or total stranger, which is pathetic, people don't have conviction anymore.

Google "usa white death". This is a real and very serious sociological phenomenon that is going on right now. White Americans are dying from drugs, alcohol, and suicide at a statistically alarming rate. It's a cultural disease. Deeply troubling.
