Denver police detain driver after vehicle plows into Breonna Taylor protesters

“He wasn’t gonna stop even though I was, like, on his hood," one witness said

A driver was detained in Denver on Wednesday night after allegedly plowing his vehicle through a crowd of Breonna Taylor protesters, according to reports.

Videos posted on social media showed protesters surrounding the unidentified driver's vehicle, some pressing on the hood to block its path when the car accelerated through the crowd and knocked at least one person to the side of the road.

“I was kind of going up on the hood and I was like, ‘No, I’m not doing this,’ and I rolled over to the side,” a woman who identified herself as Kate told the Denver Post. “He wasn’t gonna stop even though I was, like, on his hood.”

The incident, which occurred around 9:15 p.m., came toward the end of a night of protests in the city and occurred after most of the demonstrators left the area.

The "witness" jumped on the hood of a car. Twitter Video of Volvo being surrounded, then speeding off: Twitter Video

Blocking a roadway should be an automatic obstruction of commerce charge at the very least.

So this driver is arrested but not the people burning and Portland, Seattle, and Louisville?

You know a good way to avoid getting ran over by a car? Don’t stand in the road blocking traffic.

Why was the driver arrested? That is outrageous.

Not even that should have happened. He was clearly innocent of any wrongdoing. The violent jerks blocking the road all should have been arrested.

Maybe it was just for questioning?

They are still going to question him and get his side of the story.

What do they expect people to do in these situations when they are being surrounded by an angry mob and their property is being destroyed?

frick all these local politicians and DAs. I would sue the shite out of the city for detaining me for something like that. It’s the only way this is going to stop

threat to my safety and threat to my very life.

Plenty of video evidence out there over the last few months of mobs attacking, shooting, trying to literally kill vehicle occupants on the same road as they randomly decide to takeover.

My defense would be: "My only avenue of defense against the terrorists threatening me."

More JOURNALISM BY OMISSION. Bury the lead, emphasize the Democrat narrative. Motorist violent, Rioters peaceful. The car got kicked. Just left that little detail out. Also left out the fact that crowds are REGULARLY pulling people out of cars and/or shooting them.

Rioters.

Two cops got shot. That wasn't protesting. That was rioting.

How about simple jaywalking?

Heck the SLC police once upon a time wrote me a jaywalking ticket for crossing a street that was closed because of a bike race.
