My scrip hasn't changed in decades. Order them online from England. No script needed.

Same here. I take great care of my teeth and still have issues every time I go to the damn dentist. I maxed out my dental insurance this year with one plan and about to hit it again on my new plan (I changed jobs mid year.)

orthodontics are critical in your dental health, straightening your teeth allows your brushing and flossing to become a lot more productive in removing substances that wear out your enamel causing cavities

get your dental work done to prevent major oral health problems

The fact that you chose your screen name to be the character known for being mentally challenged on The Simpsons is so accurate.

And I also appreciate that the guy who used a Homer Simpson catch phrase is trashing your horrible take.

Dentistry is legit. If you've ever had a tooth infected and dealt with throbbing pain just pulsating through your head, you definitely appreciate your dentist for fixing that shite.

What's the scam is insurance companies not treating dental care the same as medical care. Dental hygiene has a direct impact on our overall health but, for whatever reason, if you need to get work done at the dentist you end up paying hand over fist because "it doesn't fall under your medical policy".

Absolute bullshite. My teeth look great but, as someone who inherited bad teeth, I've spent a fricking asston of money to make sure they look the way they do.

I resent every syllable you've written.

I would think nothing of it. I’m willing to bet OPs mouth smells like a butthole because he doesn’t floss, then he cries because his gums bleed during his cleanings.

MDs like oral surgeons and maxillofacial surgeons

One has to first be a dentist to gain admission to oral surgery residency. The residency is so involved that coupled with the DDS or DMD the MD is awarded.

I agree that they charge waaaaayyyy too much. The same dental care including implants performed in most other countries is 60% less.

I’m a dentist too. There are crooked people in every profession/industry including dentistry. You just need to find a trustworthy dentist. Also, agree with poster who mentioned dental insurance is the real problem.

As far as orthodontics, I totally don’t get that remark. I think orthodontics is one of the most common-sense obviously beneficial medical specialties out there. Maybe you haven’t seen a set of totally jacked up teeth and how damaging that could be to someone’s health and self-esteem.

The corporate chains of dental clinics are popping up everywhere, and seem to be way more aggressive in treatment plans especially if you have insurance. I know of one person that had been going to a individual practitioner every six months for decades, after their dentist retired they went to a chain clinic were after a exam were told they needed $12k worth of work, only 6 months had elapsed since they last saw their prior dentist.

Dentistry isn’t inherently a problem

The scam is the Fluride Protor & Gamble puts in the toothpaste
