I'd be perfectly fine with a nuke drop on Eastover. I've heard the major problem is the lots are individually owned now and hard to enforce restrictions. Find the $ and buy all of then out and ship em off somewhere.

I've lived in Hammond, NOLA, Metairie, Mandeville, Covington, BR, and now just outside of Walker. I'd take Walker any day of the week. Mandeville/Covington were nicer overall, but the fricking drug problems over there were out of control. Hammond has vast portions that you don't want to be stuck in late at night. I left NOLA, Lakeview, after a damn ice cream truck got held up at gun point right down the street from my house. Baton Rouge, SOUTH SIDE, wasn't bad. I just got worried about the rise in crime - this was about 4 years ago. Good call on my part too. There isn't shite to do in Walker - not a damn thing...and I love it. The jail/police station isn't much bigger than my shed.

It's easier to find acorns in an oak tree than it is to find them in a pine tree.....

Denham Springs reports every single call or incident. If you think-for a NANOSECOND-that the Fraternal Brotherhood of Policeman's Baton Rouge Chapter-dominated BRPD isn't cooking the statistical books, you're an idiot.

Serpas lost his job in NOLA for under-reporting and falsifying crime reporting statistics amongst other things. This is after he got caught doing essentially the same thing in Memphis beforehand.

So what you're really seeing is a more accurate reflection of criminal statistics in Denham than you are a more violent or unsafe area.

But I'm sure everyone reporting crime stats in Louisiana is on the up-and-up. This is a truly accurate sampling and all of the municipalities-including the ones I referenced-and that Denham is just a violent, unsafe place to live.

"We report everything that’s reported to us, even if we go to the event and it’s civil, it still goes down as a reported crime," said Chief Scott Jones when asked what is included as a property crime. "Even if it’s not that big of a deal, it still goes into the crime report as a reported crime, because that’s their criteria."

If someone calls them for loud music, or is issued a speeding ticket this is counted as a crime? It sounds like they padding their numbers as a way to appeal for more staff and more local, state or federal money. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like an odd practice. Look at the top of the list, all small sleepy towns.

Don't confuse GMan. He's got a narrative he's pushing. This prevents the type of confirmation bias statistics which lack context such as these help provide him for the purposes of this thread.

This.

The reason the Uniform Crime Report is unreliable (and most LE will say so) is because it's not mandatory for LEAs to report to the FBI/UCR excluding violent crimes. DSPD has a locally enacted policy requiring their participation to encourage LE to actaully enforce the law.
