Exactly.... 90% of residents in the new place will be people from the same shitty complexes that line Sherwood on the right side from Fla blvd to Choctaw..... it will go down quickly..... there WILL be some kind of shooting within the 1st month it opens......

What will happen is that the better tenants in those older complexes along Choctaw and out towards Belaire High School or up towards Greenwell Springs will leave and move to the new place that they are building where Brandywine is now.

Then the older complexes will turn into dilapidated shite holes that will have to be demolished. Sort of like Tigerland is now. The owners will do the bare minimum to keep them maintained and they will eventually become abandoned. That area around Marque Anne north of Florida probably is already reaching that point.

These giant apartment complexes have a much shorter shelf life than traditional single family neighborhoods. Even privately owned townhomes last longer.

And which people would that be?

Generally the type of people that live paycheck to paycheck, IF they even work at all.

They have virtually nothing to their names that they own or have had to work for so they do not know the value of working hard for something and having pride in accomplishment thus they have no value for taking care of thing.

Most of the time, there is junk piled up in and around where they live, thus bringing the rest of the property values down to their level.

They have lots of kids that they do the bare minimum to talk care of.

They're ok with the sub-standard of living because it requires little of them effort wise.

They complain about not being given a fair shot in life.

I could go on but I think you get the point.

I had friends that lived there when it was built and it was not a bad area.

Today they will have that granite removed and sold in a few hours. Kiss those washing machines good bye or find out where they are selling them to get a good deal.

I give this place 3 months and it will make the old Brandywine proud with the new tales from the hood.

The real question is will the last white boy that was named Bozo, who was raised there, stabbed there, and died there get a plaque dedicated to his life at Brandywine?

They were selling them in the mid seventies. My brother tried to talk me into buying one. I had no interest in buying an apartment. Back in those days the area was real nice. Like another poster said when section 8 came in that area was destroyed. That whole area looks like a third world country.

Oooh yeah the last few years it made a 3rd world country which I have been to a few look great.

It is sad in the 60’s my friends and I would ride our bikes to our friends parents condo there. Then eat breakfast and go to school at Red Oaks Elementary. In the summer they had a pool which we were invited to use. Red Oaks and Brandywine was a decent working class area.

Lived there for a summer. Nothing really happened to me, but it was a shithole apartment.
