Arent we being told its coming for younger and younger? Well, that just isnt the case. Also, shouldnt the trend in those over 60 be greatly diminished since they are well vaccinated?

Something is not adding up

As you can see, the age in cases is following the exact same trends as always

For reference
0-4 brown
5-17 red
18-29-yellow
30-39- green
40-49-grey
50-59-purple
60-69 pink
70+ orange

We need to shut down for two weeks to flatten the curve.

Honestly? A couple things

Variant doesnt "come after children" any differently

And the vaccine is not working at all to prevent cases. At least not showing up in the data

Not sure "coming for" is what I've perceived, but I have seen that younger people do present more symptoms with this variant. We think our daughter had it a few weeks ago. Dry, hacking cough for over a week, low fever one day, and a few headaches. Doctor didn't test her for it though and just diagnosed it as walking pneumonia.

Yes

It was supposed to from some degree. I am a vaccine proponent, but it isnt good when cases are following the same trend in the age groups like they are

The deaths among the elderly are way down relatively speaking (although still higher than younger people). Likely because they had the vaccine.

You posted a chart showing cases, not deaths.

Conclusion is that both you and the people claiming that it's coming for young people are misleading.

Seems like the people who got the shots are getting this new one more than those who didn’t.

Somebody call China and ask em what’s up.

2 things

I believe the hospitalization numbers and deaths are dramatically reduced for people with vaccines. Didn’t the UK show that as well as our own data here in the US?

If the vaccine doesn’t stop cases, but does reduce symptoms dramatically, why do we care about cases any longer?

Eta
I lied. 3 things.

I remember when the debate raged about the mask mandate. We told you cases were already dropping prior to mask mandate. Then we had the thirds spike with mask mandate in full effect. Mask mandates didn’t do diddly to slow this down.

The flu has been like this for centuries. This is expected.
