Man, Lake Charles really can't take another storm this close to us. Sorry to wish bad on anyone but it needs to shift East some.

Jackson is plenty. Jackson even had power after Katrina. Now, just south of Jackson didn't, but the city did.

Maybe where you were, but I most certainly was without power for two or 3 days. Ridgeland on the Rez.
Downtown Jackson actually did have power. I actually called a small hotel downtown and they had a room. Me and the fiancé went and got a room. Checking in, we realized that we probably got the last room...we got a shower, watched the news, saw how bad it was, and promptly left so someone else who really needed could have the room.

I'm still baffled at how active this hurricane season is and Florida hasn't taken a single hurricane on the chin with a direct hit. Considering they just suck everything up with their land mass that's some serious unlucky shite for the rest of us on the Gulf Coast.

For some reason everything on our side stayed way out in the Atlantic so far.

You guys stay safe.

Two Cat 4s or a Cat 4 and Cat 3 six weeks apart will kill Lake Charles for a decade. People will leave and not return.

Plus the debris that is lined everywhere will be death shrapnel in a Cat 3.

Can rds or Duke tell us if “Maximum Potential Intensity” here is something we should be worried about, or just Twitter fear mongering?
