GFS 240+ hours out.

Yes, gulf and caribbean get favorable for tropical stuff again later in the month but let's not go chasing GFS fantasy storms just yet.

rds will make a new thread if we need to worry.

Not really that I’ve heard. Did hear the surge wasn’t what was expected. Again which I good but worries me for future.

Guy in Pecan Island said his parents lost a few shingles and that was it.

TWC had drone video earlier
It was just of the road, where the surge / water came over, & bulldozers cleaning up the marsh grass?
I’m not familiar with the area, guess it’s marsh grass

I’m not chasing squat but really don’t want to move patio furniture back and then back again. Maybe I need to invest in nice old fashioned gold outnlawn chairs.

Got a inspection. Have shingles gone. two trees down in the yard. What I see, 90% pecans are gone to waste.

Took a bad fall trying to start my genset. Ripped up my left knee. Neighbor had to pick me up.

it did finally stop raining

I honestly should've been paying more attention to the door out to the patio looking out to the pool... water there was much closer to my apartment than the parking lot turned pool

but everything is now dried out thankfully

How long can you leave fridge/freezers off before needing juice? I’m trying to conserve gas as much as possible. I know the less you open them the better.

If I was close, bud, I'd be there helping you with whatever I could. If it wasn't anything more than bringing you a cup of coffee.

Any idea on extent of water in houses around that area and to your southwest? Seems that area got the heaviest for the longest. I've seen some of the pics you posted. Trying to catch up on the thread now.

I usually run them about 45 mins, every 3-4 hrs depending on the ambient temp

Power went off at 8 last night and I only opened it once. I just transferred the contents to an ice chest. Sausage had already thawed, but my bags of shrimp and reds were still pretty solid.

Transferred beer too. They were starting to get warm, but I’ve been opening the fridge normally since power went out.

Guess so. All electric here. I do have burners, but that is all in the garage too. Have a old drip pot too. At lease the house is still cool.

After the tornadoes of April 27, 2011, we were without power for around 5 days. The Hackleburg EF5 crossed the Tennessee River and took out multiple high tension power lines near the nuclear plant. Another EF3/EF4 crossed a major highway just a few miles north of our property and sheared about 20 rebar reinforced concrete power poles off about head high. They had to reroute our power from another substation. All of that to say those were the days that I learned that I really like percolated coffee cooked over a fire. Thanks for that one, Pops.

That is always the easiest food item to take care of.
