Not uncommon to have that kind of turbulence over the Sierra. I've heard of several planes landing with injuries because of it.

I just don't have any gumption to board a plane, because of this.

The National Weather Service had warned pilots of 'downright dangerous flying conditions with moderate to extreme turbulence'.

'This is a particularly dangerous situation for aviation in the lee of the Sierra over the next few days,' the weather service said Wednesday.

So the answer was to fly through it anyway?

If you are not headed over a big mountain range, I wouldn’t sweat it.

Airlines are amazing things. There are thousands of more harrowing auto accidents in every city in the country every day (an average of 90 will die) yet five people getting minor bruises in a single plane on a single day, when a million people fly in this country every day, makes national news.

Nope... I would have asked for a rental car instead of getting on another flight.

Did it say what kind of plane it was? I didn’t see it in the article.
