For the record, mainstream media made concerted effort to make sure this was a racial issue. Made sure everyone knew the driver was black and the douchebag was white.
And everyone wonders why there’s such a divide everywhere.

I don't think this applies here. Dude is driving a delivery truck and in uniform, probably has his company name on the truck and uniform. not hard to see that dude is legit and not some front for illegal activity.

Most HOAs would just call the cops and let them handle it.
There are thousands and thousands of HOAs out there, and like 10 make the news every year. And then you see everyone on here complaining about HOAs.
However, many families are more than happy that their neighborhood looks good, with nice amenities and house appreciation. But don’t let facts get in the way of a hasty generalization.

False detainment? Harassment? I imagine he could argue loss of wages due to them blocking him in and not allowing him to leave he makes money based on the number of deliveries he completes.
If the HOA President states he was acting on behalf of the HOA and they don't have appropriate liability insurance in certain states he can go after the whole board in a suit.

Even if he wrecked a tree, are they legally allowed to detain him just because dude is an HOA President? False imprisonment or false arrest is restricting freedom of movement when it doesn't involve something like shopkeeper's privilege, voluntary consent, or law enforcement making a lawful arrest.
