Does not having Facebook really affect your day to day life?

Congrats! It has been almost a year since I shut down all my social media and without a doubt, it was absolutely one of the best decisions I ever made

Only issue I have found is if you happen to be job searching for any reason (depending on your field) it can unfortunately come in to play

Really? That's the best you've done? If true, then here is something you need to know:
You have had a shitty life!

Let me guess, he started chatting up some old flame and things went too far?
He'll be back on FB within a year or two, but it will be one account under "Husband and Wife Lastname".

I never had Facebook or Instagram. How much cooler does that make me?

Anyone who feels the need to post this will be back on social media in a week.

Then you don't understand how it works. The creators of it do. Just because you think you aren't affected means nothing to me. I've done a lot of research on the topic and I have a basis of understanding of the technology.
It's not that it ruled my life, but the minute effect that it did have was enough for me. And that was only 1 of the factors that led me to stop being a part of these platforms.

Haven't had FB in seven years now, but my life just goes on...I don't miss it, but I also don't feel like I had this huge weight lifted off my back. People act like they were just released from prison or something. Quite sad.

Too bad, I was going to post a happy Birthday on your wall this year

Stop watching the local news or channels like Fox, CNN, and MSNBC. Your quality of life will also increase

OP, post the link to your dead facebook page so the OT knows if you cave and decide to come back online. Good incentive to stay off

Then you don't understand how it works.
If you think just because it had that much of an effect on your life then the same must be true for everyone, you're sadly mistaken.
I've had FB since a college email address was required. Used to go on it regularly. Now I go on it rarely. Literally nothing has changed for me because of that.

Yes...it affects my day to day state of mind by avoiding all the stupidity and nastiness.

I said social media not just FB. Facebok, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, Pinterest, Tumblr, etc. Social media is the worlds insane asylum. Regular exposure to constant hate, stupidity and nastiness is highly detrimental to a persons psyche and can distort ones view of the world.

Or I could choose to socialize in person or only with people I know well via phone and text. Sure you could have it and not use it...but what purpose does that serve? If i come to the decision something is no longer of any benefit to my life...it gets eliminated.
