I’m cool with the death penalty even if a few innocents get fried once in a while.

Don't you think the organizers first take was diversity, inclusion, Equity? I guarantee it took them a few days before someone said that may hurt their cause.

EDI was actually the first version I ever heard. Not sure why everyone settled on DEI. EDI rolls off the tongue a bit better.

Equality is the promotion of equal opportunity. Equity is the demand for equal outcomes.

For those who don't understand the difference, I'll use a foot race as an analogy.

"Equality" is everyone starting at the same point (equal opportunities). From here, everyone has a chance of winning based on their ability as compared to the abilities of other runners.

"Equity" is everyone having to cross the finish line at the same time (equal outcomes). This means no one can run any faster than the slowest runner.

This isn't "accelerating equality", it's just revenge porn for grievance scammers. It seeks to address old wrongs by creating new ones. It takes skill and ability from meritocracy and replaces them with sex and race.

It's ridiculous.

To make the weirdness seem normal, so much so that pedophelia is acceptable for the elites to have at it with the masses just shrugging their shoulders instead of hunting them.

Huh, you’re right. it does. DEI isn’t as smooth bc the D-E can get muddled when speaking quickly.

I just use DIE.

Anytime I hear DEI, I immediately think of Dale Earnhardt Inc or a quick second is Doofenschmirtz Evil Incorporated.

Yup. As a general rule, having multiple vowels in a row in an initialism (as opposed to an acronym) doesn’t feel as good to say. And things that feel better to say have a bit of a leg up when it comes to people’s first impression, and that’s a huge step towards hearts and minds.

I genuinely don’t understand why a pleasant initialism was traded for an unpleasant initialism/non-functional acronym.

Anyone besides me notice there does not seem to be much diversity of the people who hold the corporate DEI officer role? Seems to be an exclusive candidate requirements with little inclusiveness. Which does not appear to be equal opportunity for all.

Total BS, especially when the management team discussing it are all white men in their 60s.

This is the problem. None of these frickers in management roles today have a back bone or nuts. They dgaf because they made their money and are riding the storm out to their retirement, which is going to leave a fricking mess behind in the near future. The fundamentals under which most businesses thrived and were developed on is being pushed aside quickly. 5-10 years from now, it's going to be a cluster frick for a lot of businesses that can't operate because their management doesn't know jack shite about the actual business that made the money.

Must suck know that you can’t compete on a level playing field so you have to discriminate against your betters to get a job.

Some of these positions pay very well.

At our school it is $300,000 range for the VP/DEI Dean, etc.

Incredible. And that person produces absolutely nothing and or do anything that provides actual value.
