Yup, I'm also man enough to admit that most surgeons wished they went to CRNA school.
Lol. Most surgeons are too egotistical to wish they were a nurse.

Most surgeons hate telling me goodbye at around 5 pm on Friday while they slave through a 36 hr trauma call.
Meanwhile, I'm gonna go bathe my kids, eat popcorn and watch a little 30 for 30 and show up refreshed for Saturday morning at 125 per hr.

Nah really I'm telling the truth....and I'm good being a mid tier low level nurse.

I'd chop my dick off before I'd be a general surgeon.

My brother in-law said it's scheduled for floor debate today, he plans to vote for it.

Wow, is this fear-mongering bullshite of a thread still going?
"If we don't give doctors lots of money then everyone you love will die from undiagnosed cancer!!!!!! No cheap cold medicine, it's for the kids!!!!!"

This is about to get much worse for non surgeon doctors too.
All that training is pretty easily replaceable
We're gonna hear a lot of medical whining over the next decade about how important they are, but the truth is we'll all be better off once they're replaced.

Clearly you did not read the thread
Posted on 5/19/16 at 8:07 am to LATigerdoc
I read a lot of it, it got pretty repetitive and monotonous pretty quick. But what I did read was a bunch of doctors blaming undiagnosed cancer on NP's and trying to scare people into supporting their racket.

Nah. Not at the rate EMR's are developing. Plus they'd replace the mid-levels first.

no no no
You don't understand. My GP can tell I have dick cancer when I come in for an ear infection because he had 93 years of schooling. An NP would've missed that.
Docs are always competent and correct in their assessments and well worthy of the obscene prices they charge.
///
Real talk, If we want to bring down the cost of medical care in this country then embracing NPs is a strong step in that direction. Though I think Docs are perfectly fine with the status quo of "hi how are you, hmmhmmm mmhhmm yep I'll write you a prescription for this drug and my secretary will write you a bill for $200. Have a nice day."

I would bet that computers will serve as collaborative databanks to the primary care physician and the mid-levels will be replaced by R2D2.

Yeah no. If you have a computer that can diagnose more accurately (which they can now) and more cheaply than an overpaid egomaniac, you're gonna use the computer. It wouldn't make sense not to.
The only docs that will have jobs in ten years are ones who do more than diagnose and write perceptions. If you're not a surgeon, it might be a good time to invest in retirement or learn a new trade.

All medical professionals including surgeons will be replaced by robots in the near future. Surely with a Spock avatar you watched any Sci-fi movies/series.
