Speaking of, how were the grocery stores today baws? I was aiming to go early in the morning when Walmart opens up.

I'm well removed from the war zone. This one ain't my battle.

Publix in Pensacola was getting a bit frisky this afternoon. Much more than normal but not hurricane busy. I think people here don’t know what to buy for a winter storm ??.

Land fall west of Grand Isle. That’s my final prediction.

The lowest ever recorded here was 6 degrees in 1899.

Biloxi was (unofficially) below zero. The Gulf froze.

I'm 2 miles from the Spalding/Pike line.

Pretty country up that way, but I’m a little south of you on Harris/Muscogee line

HISTORIC WINTER STORM coming for the Gulf Coast. From Houston to Florida, it’s going to snow - A LOT. The snowstorm will develop in the early morning hours Tuesday and continue for most of the day. Expect precipitation to start as a mix and then flip to all snow. Where we get those snow bands, the intensity of the snow could be over an inch an hour. Winds will also be gusty making for white out conditions at times. This is something we’ve not experienced in our lifetime, it will rival the epic Gulf Coast Snowstorm of 1895. Please understand the urgency that the cold will be dangerous, travel will be impossible and tree branches will snap from the weight of the snow. I know snow can be so fun but be safe! Stay home, watch those trees around your house, keep the pets warm and keep your pipes protected. The storm’s impacts will last multiple days! We may have to shelter-in-place for at least 48 hours Tuesday-Thursday. Here is my latest forecast thinking for totals. Of course the numbers can be higher or lower for certain locations.

Atlanta and the northern burbs look to be getting nothing in the latest ensemble runs. That’s a bummer

More for the southside.

Weather question.

What is it about Southwest MS that allows it to get colder than everywhere else around it on a consistent basis?

Is this the Houston guy that thinks every Hurricane will hit H-Town as a Cat 5?

Meanwhile WGNO in New Orleans is downplaying the amounts, especially on the Northshore.
