When I was at MsState our professors were pretty good about stuff like this. Granted there were tornadoes that hit campus and around Starkville in the past. My classes at 1 would have been cancelled by the professors if the campus was closing at 3. Granted we have an awesome meteorology Dept. We also got text alerts so maybe they'll get off campus earlier.
I'd think a lot of them would be weather aware and cancel the class themselves and make up an excuse about needing to be in a safe space. Don't underestimate college kids attempt to get out of classes.

I highly getting the DOTD 511 app or checking out the website itself. I’m able to see all the traffic cameras so I know where it’s real bad at. Useful tool for me.
