A wx station in Montana had a 26 degree temperature drop in 3 minutes.

Now thats a cold front.

These massive cold fronts are my favorite because I'm always in awe at how fast the temp drops. I can't wait to watch it drop on my Davis Vantage Pro 2 station. I spent $1,200 on it for moments like this and Ida.

I've actually never had to wrap my outdoor faucets in New Orleans since I've owned my house.

Yall reckon I need to do that huh?

The HRRR is just fricking with us at this point.



I don't know aboot (yep....I'm talking Canadian until this cold weather breaks) all that, but the NAM is coming in a degree or two colder at 7° with a high of 14° for Friday for North AL.

Eh, NOLA is always special with these events because of the Lake. It might not be a terrible idea to be safe but odds are you're looking at the mid to upper 20's at the coldest. Problem is it'll be at or below freezing for longer than the city is used to
