Is the reason you have to stick around. You cannot check out, it would be worse than anything her mom has ever done x 100.

You have far more than 8 people that care for you.

The reality of your situation is that when people are hurting, others have a difficult time in knowing what to do to help.

Outside of turning your life over to God, here are some other things that I think can help you.

Create a routine. Follow that routine.

Wake up at the same time. Start your day with a victory by making your bed. Take a shower, wash your face, brush your teeth.

Eat breakfast. Something with protein.

Find a hobby. I personally recommend jiu jitsu. You’d be amazed at how many broken people you will meet.

Find some books that interest you but also a few that will challenge you mentally.

Write out some goals you want to achieve. A personal one, a physical one, a spiritual one, a financial one, a professional one.

Write. Find the things each day that make you smile. Recognize that when depressed it’s hard to find joy but observe the sunrise or sunset. Examine flowers, take pictures of birds.

Get away from social media.

Find a therapist that you connect with.

If your parents are alive call them just to ask them about their day.

Learn to serve others. Service brings joy to the heart.

You got this my dude. Life is hard, but I promise you if it were easy it wouldn’t be enjoyable.

Jesus loves you and you know what. So do I. Seriously. You are in my prayers and I’d be happy to email you or message you daily to let you know that people care.

This is a topic that interests me. I’d like to get something started with my financial advisor for my daughter.

Well you say you got the blues,
Got holes in both of your shoes,
Feelin' alone and confused,
You got to keep on smilin', keep on smilin'
Yeah, you're about to go insane,
Cause your womans playing games
And she says that you're to blame,

You got to keep on smilin', keep on smilin'
Keep on smilin' through the rain, laughin' at the pain
Rollin with the changes til the sun comes out again
Keep on smilin' through the rain, laughin' at the pain
Rollin with the changes, singin' this refrain

Singin' in a honky tonk cafe,
Nobody's hearin' what you play,
they're too busy drinkin' anyway,
You got to keep on smilin', keep on smilin'
You say you found a peace of land
Gonna change from city boy to country man
Try to build your life with your hands

You got to keep on smilin', keep on smilin'
Keep on smilin' through the rain, laughin' at the pain
Rollin with the changes til the sun comes out again
Keep on smilin' through the rain, laughin' at the pain
Rollin with the changes, singin' this refrain

you're just hangin' out in a local bar,
And you're wonderin' who the hell you are
Are you a bum or are you a star?

Keep on smilin' through the rain, laughin' at the pain
Rollin with the changes til the sun comes out again
Keep on smilin' through the rain, laughin' at the pain
Rollin with the changes, singin' this refrain

Thank you for the kind words. So much of what you posted resonates. Those small victories seemed impossible several months ago. I’m getting back into routines now due to those small wins.

I’ve filled up a journal with thoughts. They started so negative, but over time I noticed a shift where I could see light at the end of the tunnel.

I also spend a night a week having dinner with my folks. It’s brought me much closer to my siblings as well.

I heard about a 15 year old boy in Houston who took his own life last week. How tragic that a kid this young can feel so alienated.

Out of all this sadness some wise adult spoke to his classmates and told them if they feel alienated and alone then look for others who need a friend and you be the one to go and be their friend. Don’t wait for consolation from someone else, you be the consoler. This is the way to healing.

No doubt many people feel this way but all it takes is for us to reach out to heal and be healed.

You’re getting good advice here and it sounds like you’re getting into a better headspace personally.

All I can chime in to say is that as much as you love that little 3 month old daughter now, you cannot fathom how much you’re going to love her in 6 months, 9 months, 2 years, etc.. your love for your kids punches you in the face and then gets exponentially better from there.

I understand you and her mom were not in the best place and it can be easy to conflate your daughter’s conception and origination story with your wife’s infidelity.

I’d suggest lining up a great lawyer to get substantial custody of your daughter because she will bring so much joy and light to you right now while you are trying to stave off darkness and gloom.

Good luck, bro. You have a lot of people pulling for you from afar.

IMO, that's even more important for his own daughter's sake, and for his ability to watch her grow up in person. Family courts are horrible to men.

any doubts you have about going forward will be lifted as you spend more time with your daughter. i have 2 daughters, 9 and 4. they mean everything.

also keep in mind that up to about 7 years old are the best years, so realllly enjoy them.

from there, find some good social hobbies. golf, pickle ball, etc.
keep in mind youll get old, so even tho i like the tennis suggestion, it can be a little tough on your knees lol.

good luck!

8 people that care about you is a lot whether you believe it or not. I don't have that many and would love it.

I've been going through the same type of thing for the last 6 months. It sucks, but I have a wonderful job, an awesome bunch of friends/co-workers and a great family.

I lost one of my brother's over 10 years ago, and I lived through and saw what it did to my family. It changed all of us. Regardless of how bad one might think things are at any given moment in time, it will be a lot worse if that person decides to "check out".

To the OP: I'm glad you're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Just keep on truckin'! That's all you can do! As Dale and Brennan from Step Brothers said when they made bunk beds, "We now have so much more room for activities!" The "room" equals time! Enjoy it! Also, take care of yourself!

Just blasted this song this morning because I saw this. I forgot it. What a great fricking song.

Don’t worry about this. It’s not that important right now. Focus on your baby and you right now. This part will become much easier once everything else is in order.

You got this. This is a blessing. You are about to become the best version of yourself if you are willing to put in the work.
