Well seems like he will continue to burn bridges within the law enforcement community with that kind of behavior.

Paul and Johnny Dunham seemed damn apologetic the entire news conference. Are we now apologizing for tracking down wanted felons?

Remember when law enforcement, local government, and citizens were happy when we got the bad guys?

This is the issue with areas that have cheap land. It’s easier to build elsewhere than to fix the existing problems.

This is exactly what has happened around LSU. There was so much empty land down Burbank that it’s no wonder developers chose to build new complexes. A lot easier to provide modern amenities (gyms, pools, modern floor plans, covered parking, etc.) building from the ground up, and the developer doesn’t have to deal with existing owners who almost certainly did not want to sell prime real estate at a cheap price. So now existing properties like El Cid, Embassy, etc. will go down the same path as Tigerland.

The one exception is the new Park Place complex between Boyd and Parker. Those frickers demolished an entire block. No idea how they pulled that off, maybe the existing property owners got a stake.

WRT Tigerland, all those apartment buildings need to be razed and either new ones built which will get a higher quality tenant or it red ones as commercial to go with the bars.

There are a ton of new commercial developments in the area as well. And the Tigerland properties in question are off the beaten path. Sadly, I suspect the area will continue to decline unless or until LSU sees a significant increase in enrollment.

As others have said the Tigerland apartments need to be razed. However, that's the type of "affordable housing" that liberals want more of, and they want it in your neighborhood. Good luck doing anything with that blighted area with the mayor you've got.
