What time does the #BLM protest start?

At least cut back on treats for Officer Fido.

I still think it’s prime real estate, but it’s going to take some money and love to invest in it’s future.
It absolutely is, and you’re absolutely correct. That area should be some of the most popular living destinations around campus, but the owners allowed them to become out dated and become less desirable compared to the new places. When that happened the easier route was section 8 in terms of income, so that’s what the landlords did

Now that it's done, it would probably be much harder to do than if they would have gutted them 15 years ago. The owners would have to kick all those people out, either raze or totally remodel all the units they own, then hope they can quickly get them filled at the new rents. All this while the ghetto is literally living next door. THink how many tools would be stolen during the process of remodel, then the shite the new tenants would have to deal with until the neighboring properties did the same.
The only real solution would be to have several of the owners get together on the solution and work together. I don't know a thing about the ownership groups though such as how many, private or corporations, etc.

They shouldn't even call that area back there Tigerland.
There's no reason to associate it with LSU anymore.

I lived in an apartment over there around 12 years ago that was privately owned by one guy. He'd straight up laugh in anyone's face who asked him to do anything other than collect a check. He's basically a slum lord. Or was back then. He may have sold off by now but I doubt it. I think a lot of those owners were the same and were just waiting to be bought out and instead developers built elsewhere.

I lived back there in the mid/late 90s when it was still mostly college students. Someone is going to have to buy those properties and bulldoze it to improve anything. Tops killed that area.

I agree, but why would any investor reinvest when they can get guaranteed rent from the government? There is no incentive to revitalize

My how quickly that area went to shite. Section 8 housing eventually fricks up every rental space in BR
All of these complexes will be garbage. Someone should kick the arse of whatever appraiser or analyst that OKs these fricking developments.

Thanks, didn’t know that. Glad they did that. Officer Rover is on the case!

Imagine a world where you couldn’t wait to graduate HS, move out of your parent’s house and rent a new, clean and crisp condo off Gardere ( Jade or Jasper ). Imagine a world where you could walk down Gardere at night to the convenience store with no worries. Imagine a world where you could live in Tigerland and go from apartment complex to apartment complex with no worries. Imagine a world that was seemingly built for college students that was safe and affordable and had unlimited alcohol and non-judgemental adults who didn’t care if you had sex or funneled beer and the concept of being triggered or offended didn’t exist. We call that world the 1980s and it was GLORIOUS.

Sauces say that there the dead suspect was black. (Uh Oh!)
Multiple officers on scene but the officer that shot him was also black. (Whew!)
Bad guy shot the BRPD K-9 dog in the mouth and then the BRPD officers shot him. Dog was taken to vet for surgery. No word on condition.

I remember them well. I knew a lot of people who lived off Gardere back then, dated a few as well. Amazing the nose dive that place has taken over the years since.
