Two men robbed a man who works for the Drug Enforcement Administration at gunpoint Sunday night in Lakeview.
The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. in the 6400 block of Canal Blvd.
According to an initial report from New Orleans police, the 44-year-old victim was sitting in his vehicle when two armed men approached him from each side of the vehicle.
The two men demanded keys from the man, who identified himself as someone who works for the DEA.

The robber who approached the vehicle from the passenger side stole the victim's cell phone then both fled.
No other details were provided.
Per the New Orleans Advocate.

No. Time to increase the pay to the LCPD.

I know you think the thieves were dumb, but they certainly appear smarter than you.
Toss it in storm drain and run.

I always wonder why the people in the car don't just keep their windows up and drive away. It's not like they're going to shoot at your car while driving away.

Until they recover the phone and now have DNA/fingerprint evidence :/

What's the back story with this? Was this agent meeting them for a "fake" drug buy or something?

Really close to my parents house, scary. My dad is 100% going to use this to talk my mom into a gun

You watch too much csi.
You wanna recover dna and fingerprints... From an object covered in a DEA agent's skin oils and sweat that has been tossed into a storm drain?
Unless they stopped to jerk off on the phone and put it in a ziploc before tossing it in the drain, they'll be fine.

Actually that happens all the time.

We don't know that it is an agent or even an employee. The victim simply stated they worked for the DEA.

Jeez, that's right past Harrison. You certainly don't expect that there.

Unless he has a 700 MHz radio. Then they left him with a much faster way of communication.

I get the feeling this was just a secretary trying to keep his car

I am well aware of the CSI effect on juries. That being said, you don't think a government agency who's employee was robbed of a cell phone with what I'm assuming would be confidential information on it would get the full car wash of tests run?

I wanted to start a lakeview thread after visiting this weekend. I wasn't staying too far from there.
I've driven in 3rd world countries that had better roads than Lakeview. I feel like i need to get new shocks after one weekend driving around there.
You'd think with having the Mayor in your neighborhood that it would be a priority.

They pay all the taxes but are the wrong kind of voters, if you get me.
