You guys deserve to be called out because you are not serious about actually addressing gun violence
You call for bans on “assault weapons”, when 90%+ of shootings in America are with a handgun or shotgun, and more than half of all mass shootings occur with some type of handgun. The Virginia tech shooter (the 2nd most deadly mass shooting in American history) the Thousand Oaks bar shooter, etc all used handguns.
The only way to truly reduce gun violence in America would be to repeal the 2nd amendment and then carry out some pretty authoritarian shite like mass confiscation.
Background checks, bans on some guns, etc......they are barely a bandaid. They wouldn’t put a dent in gun violence data in America.

You commented on the intent of the 2nd amendment.
Anyone that seriously goes out to buy a gun these days to protect themselves against the American government is a fricking loon.
Anyone that buys a gun for a different reason (self defense, hunting, etc.) yet cites 2a is being disingenuous.
I’m an honest gun owner- I enjoy the sport of shooting and the hobby of owning and tinkering with 9mm semi autos. I have zero illusions about fending off my own government or engaging in a firefight with a bad guy at my local Walmart. I keep an mp9 in my dresser with a loaded mag nearby. I am 99% certain I’ll never need to use it. Guns are intended to destroy and kill; they are inherently bad.

Has to be an alter. One of the consistently worst posters.
I first noticed on the movie board. Awful opinions.

I agree with this.

This whole argument started with someone(not sure if it was him) incorrectly claiming that concealed carriers ran from the gunman in Texas. When pointed out that there may have been no CC’s there at the time it became a very emotional argument for them. It now seems like he has a personal vendetta against concealed carriers. Pretty odd.

Knives are meant to cut things. They are inherently bad.

Seriously? You support confiscating firearms but in earlier post say you support hunting and self defense?

He is an alter. Embarrassed himself with the previous SN.
He'll be back in a couple of months with a new one.

He just agrees that its the only way to effectively deal with gun violence.
I disagree. It's a social/cultural issue. The homicide rate from firearms was dropping rapidly from the highs in the early 90's.
Mass shooters are mainly young guys looking for attention, or gang violence.

I always love the ones who say “I’m a gun guy, but...” if you think guns are inherently bad, you are not a gun person at all. Not even close.

No, I agree with his comment. Not the idea of actual confiscation.

These are the types that usually proceed to tell you that AR stands for "Assault rifle"
