I live in Gulf Shores and I would use this for the opposite direction. Fly into BR for a weekend of baseball or a Saturday night football game.

Apparently you fly in and out of executive terminals, so this would cut down on typical wait times in the airport.

I know someone who flew back and forth for years. The whole trip would take about 2 hours from his house in BR to his house on Ono Island. If you're rich and do this trip 15+ times a year, I guess it would make sense.

Leave BR at 6am in car. Beach all day and be back at 8pm. Sounds reasonable.

Why bother if you can't stay a few days? The lunch at the Florabama is not good enough to fly from Baton Rouge to eat.

starting in June. Have lunch at the Florabama and be back in time to catch peak traffic on I-10. All or $490 plus tax and fees Southeast Beach Express

Will the plane stop at Buccees?

I could see this working in Houston or Dallas but not Baton Rouge

Not sure why you think they have to be day trips. You can fly there and spend a week at the beach.

It's still stupid and will fail quickly like every other beach route that's been tried out of Baton Rouge. It's too close plus it's nice to have your own car down there.

That’s dumb. BR to Reston would be better for the airlines.

And then you still got to get out of the plane, and into an Uber to get where you want to go.

And... you miss stopping at Buc-ees. Hard pass.
