I know I'll get blasted for saying so, but that's a lot of time, costing tax payer's a lot, for a level of deterrence that is unnecessary.

Before sending this bitch to prison they need to lock her in a room with those kids' parents for about an hour so she can feel a bit of the terror and abuse she inflicted on them.

The scary thing is this sort of stuff is way, way more common than most people realize. I mentor. The first student I was supposed to mentor got placed in a psyche ward because he got beaten with a pan by his grandmother. Another child at the school is in a hospital because their parents burned the soles of their feet. And we thought my first mentee had captured baby animals in his backyard. I told the school officials and they tried getting a hold of the mother and nothing. And they had a suicidal 4th grader 3-4 weeks ago. And that's what I get from 30 minutes a week.
