An old lady selling me cigs in a gas station in SC told me once, “the day you quit you did a big thing bc it’s harder to quit nicotine than it is heroine” and I don’t know if that’s true tho, I was like damn that hard?

vivid dreams

Ive always been offered it, why not try it. And you can get vivid dreams from patches, if worn during night as well.
My doc in Afghanistan gave me a few boxes and I wore them at night because I dont dream too often, still dont. Sure worked for vivid dreams though.

When I stopped last, I was at the gas station one time and saw this girl tweaking at like 8am. I told the cashier that I could not imagine the feeling that girl is going through because I feel horrible after a few days without smokes. The cashier said she knew the girl and said its terrible watching the spiral she has went down.

Me and my frickin words.
You know what they are worth? Not a tin shite to that monkey.
I had done well. Was keeping the faith…and then, someone needed a light. And by god i was the man to give it.
Then it was telling jokes and making people laugh.
Then it was “well, do yiu you have one to spare?”
Then of course they did and so did the gas station and it’s 2:42 and I’m back to day one.
I’m a piece of shite. I’m garbage and can’t even stop the habit I can so eloquently (apparently) put into words.
I despise myself, and all my frickin words.
Because they don’t seem to Be enough ro stop my actions.
frick me And if you ever have the misfortune to see me, and I’ve got a cig In my hand, you have full reign to slap my arse.
Because I’m apparently too much of a little bitch to solve it.
Kids, don’t start this shite. It’s a bitch to kick

What’s with the D.O.L. sentences? This isn’t English class in the 3rd grade. Guys, this guy is drunk, I’m on 2 drinks in myself, and I’m off this week, so I’m watching Olympics and doing to the first steps to quitting.
I’ll say this, I won’t quit hookah, but I go to hookah spots like 2 times a year anyways, and that smoke doesn’t remind me of cigs

Pardon me, I misunderstood your sentiment.
I hate it. I hate addiction and hate my hand in it.
I just wish I was as strong as the words I spout sometimes

I’m actually speechless. I know it’s your hobby and you write a lot but damn, that left me literally speechless

I’m the same way, in order to conquer an addiction you got to hit the point you’re stronger than the most vivid depiction of temptation you can paint, if I don’t think I can succeed, then it’s not the time to quit, but I’m okay trying substitutes to get off the sticks, then off the substitutes
But realistically to everyone posting here, how long should that take even with substitutes like gum or patches? Should I see this as in one month you’re cured? Or baby steps and stretch it 3-4 months so it sticks? Or even longer?

It’s not a hobby, it’s a frickin disease. I wish sometimes I had the wherewithal to shut my stupid frickin loud arse Yap but then…well , whenever I open it people seem to find use in the sound of my goddamn voice. I’m loud. I boom. I can’t go on vacation without people thinking I work at a place just because I’m willing to put my stupid arse loud voice out there because they don’t have a loudspeaker and no one else can understand the quiet lady reading the orders because she had a damn mask on.
And so I put on my radio voice and communicate the numbers because they don’t have a screen to do it.
What good is being something that doesn’t make you anything)!

I quit after 40 years using Chantix. Had almost no withdrawal symptoms.

I quit a little over a year ago. I still chew nicotine gum, because I think nicotine does have some benefits.
The first three weeks were the roughest. It's pretty smooth sailing now. I rarely crave a cigarette, and when I smell someone smoking, it smells God awful.
