Dave Mirra dead from suicide
When a guy who has millions $$ from doing the thing he loves most in the world, and has a hot wife and kids is committing suicide, what do you say?
Sad. Suicide is tough all around.
That there was probably a medical explanation. There's really no other way around it in situations like these, unlike a person that lost their family in an accident or something along those lines where almost anyone would ponder the possibility.

I am wondering about head injuries actually. Dude probably had dozens of concussions.

Not as extreme as your brothers, that's for sure.
Holy shite!!!!

Yeah, I'm thinking CTE as well. It's a real thing, as much as I hate to say it as a football fan. I'm hopeful screening coupled with stem cell therapy will advance to the point where brain injury can be repaired.

I was wondering about the head injuries as well. I read a study about people who jumped from bridges in an attempt to commit suicide, but survived. They all said the second their feet left the platform that they wished they hadn't done it. It's sad that people get in that mind frame that suicide is the only answer, and they can't or are afraid to seek help.

Must have been some piece of ace. He knew it would never be topped

Holy shite. That's awful. Loved him growing up.

Hope he had a life insurance policy that allowed his wife and two children to collect. You know, he at least could have done that for them since he decided to be a selfish prick.
That's truly ignorant man.
You'll never understand it, and be thankful you don't.

Of course they would, it's evolutionary dictated to practice self-preservation 99.999999% of the time. Once they jump, I'm sure the body automatically enters the "this is going to hurt" mode. But that's why it irks me when people state suicidal people are selfish/weak. It takes a lot to overcome evolutionary tendencies that are mostly automatic.

It has nothing to do with that, sheesh. If you're going to pull that fricking card, those that say he's selfish for taking his own life would be equally selfish for dictating what he does with it. But normal people don't do this. We'll all draw that last breath, no need pissing on someone's life and legacy because they had a deep fleeting moment of sorrow and ended it.
AKA Selfish
Whatever pain he felt in his life is far less than what he has now done to his wife and kids. There is no way around that, no exception to that, and it's an incredibly selfish act considering only me me me.
No way to argue that

You have no way of proving that and you have no knowledge of what was happening with his brain chemistry/structure at the time. His family is probably far less damning than you are which would make your point invalid.

There's no way to argue the stupidity of your post. Bottom line is rational people don't commit suicide. To treat them as if they were acting rationally is, to put it bluntly, fricking stupid. Like you.

What the hell?! This actually makes me really sad.

Justify all you want bro, it's simply making excuses and further reinforcing this type of behavior.
"Oh, what he must have been facing, what a struggle" Those kids and his wife will never be the same due to his choice. He not only ruined his lives, but completely altered theirs as well.

They are sick and in some cases have a terminal illness. My friend who did was on top of the world. There is no explanation for it. Is it terrible for those left behind? Of course, but imagine how bad it is to actually do it.

Have you ever heard of mental illness before?

And under duress and an altered state of mind, your "choices" are far different than they normally are, hence why you shouldn't view it through the scope of "oh Dave Mirra is a shitty, selfish individual because he did this". And again, you're assuming his family will not view this with grace and compassion and pegging the gauge of their emotions all the way towards your slanted view of closed mindedness. He left a legacy for his family to fondly remember him by and it's highly doubtful they'll dwell on this one act, unlike you. Good could very well come from this through helping others to reach out and seek help.

It's not justifying. Is there anything you won't troll?

Terrible news..one of my heroes growing up. Gotta think CTE played a role here. BMX guys suffer way more head injuries than NFL players I bet.
