I'm fully aware of what BR is and agree 10000% with all the reasons its detractors reel
off why it's a shite city and I still love it. I guess I just really love LSU, traffic and black people.

This could happen anywhere near LSU. Woodlands is actually further away from the typical bad spots. Best you could do is move to a gated place in the same area.
