Why would a car thief who owns a sophisticated ignition electrionic code cracking system simply take a car to drive 2 miles down the road? Wouldn't he be more likely to "chop" the car?

BRPD not filing a report or taking prints on a GTA? Sounds to me that they doubt your daughter's story.
