The town of Grapevine is small but has some neat stuff. There is a train ride you can take that my kids loved. Along that same area in walking distance is a real blacksmith shop and glass blowing. You can watch both up close, pretty neat.
Great Wolf is great for a weekend at best. We did find ourselves going shopping, legoland, etc as well.

Great Wolf Lodge is Disneyworld for rednecks. If you go and want to preserve your sanity, don't let your kids play that quest game.

Imagine a lower level of trash that can't afford Disney.. Stay no more than a night or two at the absolute most.. Prepare to clear out of the wave pool due to throw up or shite in the pool.. The best pools are outside because they don't leave you feeling that you're growing a science experiment on your skin.

We spent three nights in Great Wolf and would have loved a longer stay. We immediately scheduled another trip for this year. My daughter is eight and could not get enough of Magic Quest. We delayed our return trip home to finish the game.
