Daughter ran over our cat about two hours ago.

Coming back from the gym and pulling into the drive. Said he was laying in the middle of the drive and she saw him and stopped and thought he moved and pulled forward and then felt her hit him.
he was a butthead, but was a good cat. Hell of a mouser and hunter. Even caught a hummingbird once.

Did the same a few years ago. Don't let your daughter beat herself up. Mistakes happen.

Sucks man
I had a savage cat like that once. Loved to sit in my lap and purr but when he wasn’t doing that he was sacrificing snakes and rabbits and shite

I hope she’s ok, I’m sure she’s pretty upset

Try to convince her he was already dead and that's why he didn't move.
Easier that way. Just a kindness

Well this part makes that a bit trickier. Tell her he was mostly dead, but her gently rolling over him gave him a little more life, so he could say goodbye.
Seriously though man that sucks. My daughter's cat disappeared recently and I keep telling her he might come back but...who knows. It's not looking likely

Did this in high school backing out of the driveway to one of my moms cats.

That's horrible. How is she doing? I bet she is inconsolable.

She is, she feels horrible. He ran across the street to neighbors drive and she came in to get me. I ran out with her and knew he wasn't going to make it when I saw him. He passed within about 10 minutes.
Luckily my wife wasn't quite home yet cause he was her big buddy. He passed right before she arrived.

She should feel bad, she ran over a living animal based on her carelessness. It's ok to feel sorrow and realize you fricked up.

He was a real nitto cat.

I’m sorry this happened. I am a little confused. Like your daughter assumed the cat had moved and didn’t have visual confirmation?
