This should have been the first and only response in this thread. Honestly how is this a question?

I've been going with her to Catholic Mass and I don't mind, but she had zero use for going with me to my church.

Is this normal?

i'd guess that is. I ended up going to a Catholic high school after years of public school.

didn't take long to pick up on the attitude people had there (especially the girls). Not that anything is wrong with it that... it made things interesting for sure. But a lot of them just had that entitled attitude about them, not necessarily on being Catholic but just in general.

I was raised Baptist and my wife is Catholic. I never converted but we go to Catholic church and raise our kids Catholic. I really just sit there and keep quiet, but I was never overly religious so we have no issues. If I'm not feeling it, they will go without me. It doesn't seem to be an issue with my kids.

I could see it being a problem if my wife was a bitch. Choose wisely.

just abandon religion altogether. going to church blows

A Christian should go to church:

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Either one, or both of y'all are not devout and practice in name only, or are willing to go to church together at both churches.

Pompous arse Catholics love to shite on all Other religions . That's why she wont go to your church, she was taught all others are inferior. I grew up around that. I've seen older folks not attend weddings just because they were in a Baptist or Methodist church.
But heh, lets bow down to the chicken hawk preachers at mass !!!

Yes. This is normal. Catholics receive the Eucharist in Holy Communion which we believe to be the True Body and Blood of Jesus Christ when He told His apostles at the Last Supper "Take and eat of it, This IS MY BODY. Take and drink of it, THIS IS THE CUP OF MY BLOOD." DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME. The Greek word used for Remembrance or Memory in this context meant to RE-LIVE this event. The Eschatological event was the crucifixion when Christ shed His blood one time, but for all people to receive this sacrifice given to them by Him. This is timeless sacrifice offered to God by God Himself to open heaven which was closed to humanity when Adam/Eve committed their sin of disobedience in the Garden. Christ's sacrifice was PERFECT obedience TO GOD.

Catholics MUST go to mass Sunday or Saturday evening at a Catholic Church or they commit a mortal sin. They HAVE to go to a catholic Church. many catholics do not desire to go to church twice on the weekend.
Most other religions do not say whether missing Church on the weekend is mortally sinful or not. They do not say.
Catholics believe the Commandment "Keep Holy the Lords Day". One MUST go to Holy Mass or one is not keeping Holy the Lords Day. If a person has an illness, then they may be unable to attend mass. This is different than consciously not attending. since we receive the Eucharist, and believe it is the True Presence of Christ a catholic can not go to another church and receive Holy Communion.

Billy Joel summed up this type of relationship pretty well in the late 70s.

All I know is, don't start doing anything now that you won't be able to live with doing later.

you can pretend to believe whatever her priest says Catholics believe or you can't get married in the Catholic church. its as if you were not really married in her parents eyes.

Therefore, its a strong chance she won't marry you unless you pretend well.

its not much different from Methodism. They honor Mary in a way that Protestants are trained to find repulsive,

they use icons and statues. you don't.
they use beads to mark the round of the rosary. you could do worse. its a good thin.

serious Catholics actually surrender their hearts to Jesus. I recommend you ask Jesus to make that haopen for you. do your part.

if all that souads awful, find a Methodist.
