I'm just saying show some common sense. If you don't want to comply, accept the consequences.
There are no consequences for not breaking the law unless the LEO decides to break the law. This is what happened here.

Cop: "It appears the warrant isn't for you, but I do smell marijuana. Can I search your vehicle?" Kid: "No" Cop; "Ok, hang tight, I'll call in a K9."
They can not do that either. Because The Supremes that didn't have Diana Ross said so.

The kid's actions are part of the situation, that's just a fact.
It could have been handled differently by both parties. The cop shoulders 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of the blame here, but that doesn't mean that the kid didn't do something that got this situation to where it was. If you think that's giving the cop a pass, I'm not sure what to tell you.
Ok. I still don't see what you are getting at.
You asked for me to quote someone blaming the kid, which I did. Quit trying to flip the script. Learn how to stay on topic man. You asked me to provide something, and I did.
Further, 99.99...% = 100%, for all practical purposes, so there is no need to even comment on the other 1 out of how ever many Quadrillions that deserves blame. Its called an immaterial amount, and need not be discussed.
I have a better chance than .00000000000000000000000000000000001% of getting eaten by a Yeti Snowmonster, during June in Louisiana, but you don't see me starting a thread about it.

I asked for someone defending the cop actually. So perhaps you should read yourself before asking someone else if they can read.

Fail.

all im saying is, if the kid rolls his window down he doesnt get tazed.
And the cop, who knows he doesn't have to. doesn't ask, and doesn't go apeshit, none of this occurs.
The cop broke many laws, the kid did not.

Seriously? I mean seriously, he should just "accept the consequences"? So you are saying that if a cop asks you to do something, you do it without asking why, 100% of the time, and if you don't expect for your life to be physically threatened?
If an officer asked me to roll my window all the way down, I am going to comply. If it is broken, I am going to tell him I can't because it's broken.
quote:
And it appeared that the passenger window was not functioning
To me, it appeared the passenger side window did roll down, just not all the way. The officer asked that he roll it all the way down and the driver never mentioned it wasn't working.
Look, I'm not claiming the officers actions were justified. In fact, they were down right uncivil.
All I'm saying is if you are pulled over, have your window down and hands visible as a sign of not being a threat to law enforcement.

You forgot the very next line where he blames the cop, so let me help you out.
You are so dense. Honestly, what are you even trying to argue. You asked me to quote someone blaming the kid, and I did. The preponderance of the blame assigned is not relevant, and you didn't ask that, you simply asked for an example, and now you are arguing the semantics of that one example. Again, what the frick is your point? You are bad at this.

Fair enough. But for the record, you did say "if not, accept the consequences". So, when read, that makes it look like you are blaming the kid, as his actions triggered said consequences.

That's not what he means at all, and it's really not that hard to figure out.

LOL wut? Read the f*cking thread, you simple minded goon.
Quit just trying to incite arguments over what you consider words to mean. Because you don't do words well.
Your argument is "Nah-uh". Thanks for bringing that to the table.

Many in this thread say the kid's actions contributed to the situation and ya know what, you're right...........but with one major caveat. We should be fricking thankful that there are people like this kid in our country.
Why? Well, I pointed out earlier in this thread that the problem in this video is NOT the cop we see. The problem is that the ONLY reason that the cop is in trouble is because the kid almost died.
That fricker would STILL have a job with EVERYTHING ELSE the cop did, even if his supervisors watched the dash cam vid.
All you need to know is that this dashcam video would have been available to his supervisors immediately and he was NOT immediately fired.
THAT shite is considered an acceptable way to handle shite by his peers.
So, you can blame the kid because yes, he probably could have avoided the trouble. But you really should be thanking him.

You have the reading comprehension level of an organic carrot, I don't need any help from you.
edit: you aren't even organic

Actually my argument is that you can't read and just made yourself look like an arse trying to call me out.

I'd like to add that in my view, the "smelled weed" line has been so routinely bull shite, that cops should no longer be able to use it.
IDGAF about their "sense of smell" cause apparently, it sucks.
You don't see weed, you don't have probable cause.
These frickers need to be reigned in.

How the hell are either one of then stupid? You don't like your logic to be applied equallyequally? There is no "Yeah, but..." in this situation. You and auggie, among others, have explicitly said that there is. Even if you don't realize it, most of your posts are implying the guy deserved it in some way, shape, or form.

Listen, I have done this before with you, and I'm not doing it again. So you won the argument that you were never going to let yourself lose, congratulations.
The only thing I am mad about is letting myself get caught up talking to your dumb arse again. You have no point, and have no idea how to stay on track. Quit responding to me, and I'll do the same.

I keep seeing this, and not one person can tell me how they get there. I haven't said that at all, and I certainly don't think it. I've been crystal clear in that regard.
Can you just read the last couple pages so I don't have to repeat myself?

Well, you very clearly fricked up when trying to call me out. If I was you I'd just back away too.

Still so angry that you fricked up.

ad the article. Do agree with the officers actions? No!
All I suggested was to make sure your window is down and hands in plain sight for when any law enforcement pulls you over. And had the kid complied maybe what took place wouldn't have.
So you read the article and you still made the ignorant statement. The stop was just a continuation of harassment that the kid had been enduring and was totally unwarranted. Do you honestly believe it would've ended peacefully? If not then some other night they would've gotten him. In fact they continued their harassment of the boy even after this event. There was NOTHING else the boy could do but stick up for himself. He has more courage than the pussies on this board making the dumb comments.
