If the justification for making dark illegal is safety then why do cops limo tint the cruisers?? Don't do as I do, do as I say to do

Because it’s not really about “safety”

Ceramic tint is the only thing that makes driving in 100° Louisiana weather tolerable. frick off if you want to give me a ticket because I don’t drive a fish bowl.

safety

If I were a cop, I wouldn't want to pull someone over for speeding and have to walk up to a car that I couldn't see inside.
The cops know who's driving a cruiser - another cop.

Because a civilian is never going to be pulling over a cop and approaching their car.

I feel like this thread sounded better in your head than it does in reality.

It’s so they can see into the car they stop, not safety wise looking out of the car.

Easy enough to just turn on the interior lights, and they can see right in as they're walking up.

Should there be a presumption that the driver won't do something to harm the officer?

If the same officer approaches a house with a wooden door that they cannot see through what do they do?

I'm leaning to the side that thinks the law is outdated and needs to be replaced.

Hey man I don’t disagree and I’ve had more window tint tickets than most people I know combined, I’m just relaying the message.

I had multiple trucks with 5% on all windows and 20% completely down my windshield.

I just tint them as dark as I want. I haven't had an issue with cops giving me shite about it since the 90s when Harahan cops would pull you over and make you peel the tint off your windows right then and there because they were tremendous frick heads with tiny dick syndrome.
