I'm glad. Too bad the church of scientology isn't culpable in this as well. That cult is something else, and they're almost bulletproof.

He’s going to win on an appeal. If ole Bill somehow got his conviction overturned, he will also.

Well then, the irony is noted and the watch list updated accordingly.
Thank you.

5 downvotes from people who are cool with sending people to prison without physical evidence. We’re doomed as a society.

Testimony is evidence you dolt.
So if I testified in court that I saw you murder your wife, you would agree that there is evidence of murder against you?

By your logic most child molesters would never be convicted or have lengthy prison sentences either since those cases are mostly he said/she said.

Witness testimony can be strong evidence if it exists.

I did not follow the trial at all, but if all it took for Danny Masterson to be sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for a rape that happened two decades ago was eyewitness testimony, that isn't a good thing for our justice system.

The Scientologists lose also.
This conviction was as much against Scientology as it was Masterson.

Or……
Hyde just went downhill when Jackie ended up back with Kelso? How I got all the character names correct it’s been a while.
So Hyde proves that pot is the gateway drug to becoming a rapist. Reefer Madness!!!

Yes, that’s evidence.
Then I would present my wife sitting in the court room as proof that I did not murder her.
Not all evidence is created equal, and not all evidence is true, but to say there was no evidence is asinine when there were, I believe, 5 women who testified at trial.

How many claims/witnesses are necessary in your opinion?

You ok with witnesses(in other cases)?
You ok with circumstantial cases?
Perhaps the Supreme Court is reading this thread.

Normally I would agree, but they didn't just come out of the woodwork and say it happened. They left bread crumbs at the time, and Masterson and his friends took cover-up actions.
Didn't follow closely enough to know what I would have done if I'd been on the jury, but a conviction isn't completely out of left field.

Are the articles wrong or did he got 30 to life without physical evidence?
I think he’s guilty, and he probably did much worse than what he was accused of here…but it’s alarming to me that he is getting that kind of hammer thrown at him with testimony alone. That seems extreme.
Also this guy’s cult is legitimately dangerous.

They should absolutely be taken down.
But the “church” members that allegedly intimidated witnesses and buried evidence were not sentenced to prison though. Masterson was.
