Yeah but a certain sector of the population begs for mask mandates and wears them all the time, insisting they work, despite any evidence that they do anything at all.

They always claim there are "studies that show that they work". Make them link them. They can't find them, they don't exist. Those are all about the flu, not COVID.

It's gonna be interesting to see how this all plays out. Texas supreme court to weigh in potentially before end of the week. And, several in the Texas GOP coming out strong:

“While Greg Abbott brags about banning mask mandates in Texas, the largest and most populous counties in the state are imposing them on citizens," said Huffines, a former Dallas state senator, adding that “it is past time" for Abbott and the Legislature to override the local requirements and "impose real consequences."
Matt Rinaldi, the new chairman of the Texas GOP, tweeted Tuesday night that Abbott should add the issue of rogue local leaders to the list of items state lawmakers should take up during the current special session.""

States with the lowest vaccine acceptance have the highest rate of transmission. I'd say the two are linked.

If you don't get the vaccine and you die, that is on you. People with the vaccine, statistically, will be fine. Yet those are the ones running around like they are three seconds from being on a ventilator.
This isn't hard, but this isn't about science or common sense, it is 100% a power grab. Yes, the vaccine works. If people choose to not get it and end up severely ill, that is on them.
