Are we really going to attack the character of a 15 year old?

i think in some situations it's proper

the point is that in THIS situation, it's not a "dindu" scenario. this actually was a good kid

it's all the trash who try to make their POS kids out to be saints who ruin the names of the victims like this kid

But are we not giving those other boys the same courtesy just because they may be poor?

Some of these kids rap sheets are no different than some private school kids rap sheets and the only differences is that one comes from resources and the other doesn't. It's not like we're talking about murderers here

It does, though. I'm not saying it's right, but it definitely matters to the public.

Point being, people have seen this play out before, and those closest to this kid want us to know this is not one of those scenarios.

It just made the whole thing more sad and depressing when I read those comments.

i don't care about their SES as much as their behavior

why are we even bringing this up?

the victim in this scenario had no history and was a good kid

rich, white POS kids being handled differently than poor, black POS kids has nothing to do with anything here and you're disrespecting this kid by even making that "point" b/c he was not a POS at all. what any other POS does, regardless of race or SES, has no application here

Yes indeed, he deserves the maximum punishment. 2 weeks suspension, with pay.

What I'm trying to say is that bad character or good character, the crime done is the crime done. And it's awful. I don't care who it is.

And yes, we, as a society, are less likely to pin the character of those with means than those without it. If makes me wanna vomit. The hypocrisy Is Probably why I make it a point to side with those that have less (and because it is what my Lord and savior would do)

Yep. In the Walter Scott case, without the cell phone video from a bystander, Slager isn't even charged with a crime and 8/10 Americans believe that Scott somehow deserved being killed.

I really can't remember a time when a poorly behaving white/rich person was celebrated/not condemned for their bad acts by society at large. Ones that come to mind are that kid in Texas who killed his friends w/ a DUI, JFF, etc.

Oh, and I don't think Christ would agree with your "side with the poor bad actors and condemn the rich bad actors" approach.

On this board, the DA's son was shot in a drug deal gone bad and everybody was saying "He's a great kid from a great family. He just made a mistake."

I fully accept the possibility that something like that happened.

In my experience here, white douchebags are treated very harshly. I also don't recall many minorities who are good folks who ended up on this board's shite list. Any other examples of either?

this board hates, and i mean HATES, white trash

and since there are no repercussions for calling them trash, it's 100% game time when WT shite hits the OT

This board definitely has some racial undercurrent, and there are almost certainly a few bonafide bigots.

But I dare say that a black guy doing good things is going to get more applause than a white guy doing good things. Call it low expectation prejudice if you want, but in my experience decent white southerners are pretty enthusiastic in their willingness to celebrate the good deeds of black people.

That's actually pretty racist.

Take your race baiting arse back to the wood shed. He was taking up for the kid after his character was attacked.

Why were the cops rolling up packing rifles to an underage drinking call? Was it related to a report of shots fired in the area?
